| The latest version of the Secondary Two Chinese textbook is published by the Education Ministry of Malaysia,based on "Secondary Two Chinese course evaluation"and "Secondary Two textbook writing guidelines" which were amended in the year 2016.Secondary schools started using this new textbook in the year of 2018.This paper is focused on a comparison of Secondary course objectives and learning outcomes between the 2003 and 2018 versions.The research methodologies used in this paper are based on documentary research,statistical analysis and questionnaire.This paper consists of five parts.Part 1 is the description of the Malaysian textbook research and comparison with other Chinese textbooks.Part 2 and 3 are comparison of the new and old secondary two textbooks based on an analysis of the compilation and writing style of the textbook from various aspects,in terms of scientific approach,practical application,interest aroused and locality besides exercise and practical activities in the textbook.Part 4 is a survey that was designed for the teachers and students who used the textbook.Findings from the research indicate that the new textbook is more scientific,practical,interesting and adapted to the local culture.Last part is based on the results of the survey and statistical analysis,some suggestions are made for the latest version of the textbook. |
