With the rapid development of modern basketball, basketball players need to have excellent physical quality to ensure the full play of technical and tactical level. The ability to change direction,as an important part of the sensitive quality, plays an important role in the overall quality of the players and is the key factor to improve the level of personal basketball.Plyometrics is a kind of training mode that makes muscles stretch first and then contract quickly. It can enhance muscle strength, accelerate muscle contraction speed, and achieve the purpose of improving sports performance. The purpose of this study is to explore the effect of plyometrics on the ability of changing direction, and to compare the effects of forward and upward contraction directions on the ability of changing direction. In this study,20 men's basketball team members from No.2 Middle School of Yibin City,Sichuan Province, the third place in the national finals of the national junior high school basketball league in 2019,were selected as the experimental subjects. All the subjects had no history of major injuries, and the weight of weight-bearing squatting 1RM could reach 1.5 times of their own weight.Through the methods of experiment, mathematical statistics and literature. The team members were divided into two groups by random grouping. The experimental group 1 and the experimental group 2 carried out forward and upward plyometrics. They were tested before and after 8 weeks of training respectively. The test data were obtained and the test results were compared and analyzed. After 8 weeks of experiment, the following results were obtained: 1.After training, the ability of subjects in the two groups to change direction was improved;2.The results of the experimental group 1 in the "t" running, cross quadrant jumping,Nebraska test and four corner movement test were significantly improved(P < 0.01),the average value of which was 0.88 seconds,1.44 seconds,1.01 seconds and 0.35 seconds higher than that before the experiment, respectively The results of "t" running, cross quadrant jump and Nebraska test in the experimental group 2 were significantly improved(P < 0.01),the average value of which was 0.97 seconds,1.45 seconds and1.08 seconds higher than that before the experiment, and the four corner movement test was 0.6 seconds higher, with a significant improvement(P < 0.05).There was no significant improvement in AFL test results after the experiment in both groups(P >0.05);3: the improvement effect of AFL test and Nebraska test in the experimental group 1 was better than that in the experimental group 2.Therefore,from the above results,we can draw a conclusion: 1.Although the forward and upward training methods are different in the direction of muscle contraction, they can effectively improve the ability of junior high school basketball players to change direction;2.Forward plyometrics can effectively improve the ability of players to change direction;upward plyometrics can improve the level direction and the ability of vertical direction synthesis to change direction has achieved better results.
