Students' developing the core literacy has become the focus and main aim all over the world in 21st century.How to accurately understand the mathematical modeling literacy in China's curriculum standards and develop mathematical modeling courses is a huge challenge for most researchers and teachers.The research on mathematical modeling education in high schools period in China is still limited so far.However,there is little research on courses and textbooks about mathematical modeling.How to build appropriate tools for the research of mathematical modeling in curriculum and textbooks based on early studies?How to clarify the connotation of mathematical modeling literacy in Chinese curriculum standards based on the coding procedures for curriculum?What are the characteristics of the distribution of mathematical modeling content in Chinese curriculum standards?How is the content of mathematical modeling organized and presented in the new high school mathematics textbook in China?Does this enlighten us about the construction of mathematical modeling courses and the development of mathematical modeling core literacy?After literature review work and consulting with experts,the research improves the design of the coding system for international curriculum standards comparison and coding system for mathematical modeling processAccording to the coding system for international curriculum standards,the setting of mathematical modeling content in Chinese curriculum standards is more complete than the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics from US and Pre-University Higher Syllabus form Singapore.To some degree Chinese curriculum standards has certain advantages in implementation.It turns out that the connotation and goals of mathematical modeling in China's curriculum are clear,and the coverage of mathematical modeling-related knowledge is wide,and the content of mathematical modeling evaluation is detailed,and the general"practical problem solving" is important.However,the curriculum standards in China have neglected the relationship between the knowledge about mathematical modeling,also the expression of goals about "emotion,attitude and values" is too rich.We suggest enrich the connotation of mathematical modeling from the perspective of objectives and shorten the target expression of "emotion,attitude and values".It is also necessary to improve the operability of mathematical modeling activities and increase information technology toolsBased on coding system for mathematical modeling process,It was found that the contents of mathematical modeling in three Chinese editions of the new high school textbooks expressed the requirements for mathematical modeling activities from Chinese curriculum standards.Mathematical modeling combines with function content apparently and unites with statistics,probability,geometry and graphics invisibly.Textbook A published People's Education Press has the most mathematical modeling content,which is relatively conventional and conservative in organization and presentation.Textbook B published People's Education Press strives to create real-world situations and problems,and pays more attention to the review of solutions.Textbooks published by Beijing Normal University's Publishing Group is elaborate,which creates a realistic and open mathematical modeling reality for students to the extent.However,the content quantity of modeling is not much.These new textbooks all have the following problems.Firstly,the mainline status of mathematical modeling is not obvious enough,and the relationship with other contents is loose.Secondly,most of the mathematical modeling process lacks completeness,and there are fewer opportunities for learners.Lastly,mathematical modeling in textbooks is mainly examples,which is difficult to meet the needs of teachers and students' curriculum resources flexibly.Combining the above research conclusions,we put forward suggestions from the curriculum and teaching of mathematical modeling.For example,focusing on the nature of mathematical modeling starting from problem solving,letting knowledge occur naturally,highlight the thinking and process of modeling;increase the use of ICT,and carrying out empirical research to provide basis for teaching and evaluation.
