The 2011 edition of mathematics curriculum standards for compulsory education puts the mathematical operational capability into 10 core concepts of mathematics,believing that the operation ability mainly refers to the ability to perform operations correctly according to laws and operation laws.In this study,some eighth grade students and some math teachers of Dali prefecture junior high schools in Dali prefecture,Yunnan province,were taken as the investigation objects,and tests and surveys were conducted by compiling test papers and questionnaires of students and teachers.Based on the statistical analysis and collation of the sample data of test paper and questionnaire,the present situation of the mathematics operation ability of 8th grade students in Dali prefecture is given,and the reasons are analyzed from multiple angles.Research results show that: although Dali prefecture junior middle school mathematics teachers in the process of teaching,pay attention to the development of computing power,the vast majority of students have the habit of listen to the teacher carefully,but Dali prefecture eight grade students’ ability in mathematics is still relatively weak,polarized obviously,students operation ability is associated with the area of gender,primary school,students are not good at doing solution.For simple arithmetic questions with only a single knowledge point,the difference of students’ arithmetic ability between different schools is not big,and for arithmetic questions with certain difficulty,the difference of students’ arithmetic ability between different schools is obvious.The main reason is that students are not interested in mathematics learning,the definition of the operation,law,formula memory is not strong,there is a big problem in learning habits.It is suggested that teachers should pay attention to cultivate students’ interest in learning mathematical operations in teaching,strengthen the teaching of arithmetic and arithmetic,and help students develop good learning habits in learning.
