5E instructional model,as an inquiry teaching,has been widely used in foreign science education fields,it includes five links of engagement,exploration,explanation,elaboration and evaluation.In recent years,science education has paid increasing attention to "scientific thinking",the application of the 5E instructional model can fully present the scientific inquiry process,which is conducive to stimulating students' desire for exploration,helping students understand the nature of science and mastering scientific thinking methods.The 5E instructional model highlights the inquiring nature and the necessity of cultivating scientific thinking,which are highly consistent with the requirements of curriculum standards.Therefore,this study attempts to explore the impact of 5E instructional model on students' scientific thinking habits and ability,questioning ability,and academic performance through teaching practice.This research uses interviews to investigate the status of scientific thinking teaching in high school biology teachers in practice schools,the results found that:teachers did not pay enough attention to the cultivation of students' scientific thinking,and lack of corresponding teaching strategies,it is difficult to implement the cultivation of scientific thinking,but the 5E instructional model has a high acceptance,and it is feasible to implement students' scientific thinking in the classroom.A comprehensive analysis and excavation of the content of the compulsory teaching materials for high school biology 1,2,3 in the human education edition was carried out,and a total of 36 sections were screened out that were suitable for the 5E instructional model.At the same time,the teaching framework of each link of the 5E instructional model is constructed,and teaching strategies based on the 5E instructional model to cultivate students' scientific thinking are proposed,and teaching is carried out from the links of attraction,inquiry,interpretation,migration and evaluation.Taking the meiosis and fertilization and gene-directed protein synthesis as examples,demonstrated the specific process of implementing the 5E instructional model and reflected on teaching.Through one semester of practical teaching for a senior high school student in a key high school in Longgang District,Shenzhen,using a variety of evaluation methods such as questionnaires,question record forms,student assignments,and test paper tests,analyze and discuss from three aspects of students' scientific thinking habits and ability,questioning ability and academic performance.Conclusion as below:(1)5E instructional model is conducive to improving students' scientific thinking habits and abilities.(2)5E instructional model is conducive to improving students' ability to ask questions.(3)5E instructional model is conducive to improving students' academic performance.This article focuses on the formation process of scientific thinking,and designs a teaching framework and strategies based on the 5E instructional model,teaching practice shows that the 5E instructional model is operable.Use the content of the appropriate 5E instructional model selected in the textbook,students can achieve the synchronous development of their inquiry and thinking abilities.
