In the international context of economic globalization and information technology,countries have widely recognized the importance of human capital.In order to be invincible in the international community and have a lasting international voice,we must pay attention to the training of scientific and technological talents,increase investment in education and deepen educational reform.On the one hand,in view of the national conditions of China,which is still a developing country,the uneven development in the east and the west and the serious imbalance of urban and rural education resources,the curriculum reform in China has become an arduous and complicated task.On the other hand,some achievements of educational research and curriculum reform in China,although perfect in theory,are difficult to implement in the actual classroom teaching process.In recent years,China has made a lot of achievements in the field of curriculum reform,but there are still some problems such as "selling dog meat by hanging sheep's head","changing the soup and dressing the medicine",or even being unable to be put into practice.This study is strictly a case study,and the paper is based on a course jointly developed by NASA's jet propulsion laboratory(JPL)and Arizona state university(ASU).The main purpose of this course is to help global learners better understand and explore the universe and galaxies,so as to attract more attention and support for the world's aerospace industry and cultivate more reserve talents for the aviation administration.This paper hopes to summarize some experience in the course development and implementation by studying this case,so as to provide some experience for China to integrate the latest curriculum development ideas and experience into the course teaching practice.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction.In the new era,the inevitable requirements of the development of information technology,the demand for talents in the national modernization drive and the demand for the in-depth development of interdisciplinary courses are the propelling forces for curriculum reform and curriculum development.This part defines the core concepts of relevant educational policies,courses and curriculum models at the national level by sorting out relevant studies at home and abroad,then expounds the value and significance of the research on the curriculum model,and explains the ideas and methods of this research.The second part is the background and development basis of MEL curriculum model.This chapter firstly from three aspects of philosophy,psychology and pedagogy combed the MEL curriculum pattern design basis,second from the course content,learning mode and evaluation method is summarized in three aspects:the MEL the core concept of curriculum development,and finally summarizes the MEL authenticity,scientific curriculum pattern,cohesion and dynamic four development principles.The third part mainly introduces the basic framework of MEL course mode.According to Taylor's principle,the MEL course is analyzed in detail from four aspects:course objective,course content,course implementation and course evaluation.Firstly,the course objectives of the MEL course mode are analyzed from four aspects of cognition,behavior,attitude and ability.Secondly,the content of the MEL course is analyzed through the seven components of the MEL course.Then,the course implementation of MEL course was analyzed according to the 5E teaching implementation model.Finally,the three core evaluation standard systems of MEL course were sorted out.The fourth part is the case analysis of MEL course.MEL is a 16-part program that covers four major areas,and each class can be viewed as one or two projects.This chapter selects two teaching cases and analyzes the teaching plan,the activities of teachers and students,and the three standards designed for each course from the four aspects of course objectives,course contents,course implementation and course evaluation.This paper attempts to reveal its characteristics and valuable experience in STEAM curriculum development design and teaching practice.The fifth part is the reflection and inspiration of MEL course model.Based on the overall analysis of MEL course in the first three parts and the analysis of the two cases,this chapter firstly summarizes the three value orientations of MEL course mode:project learning view based on real situation,course design view based on problem learning,and scientific and cultural view to promote the development of science and technology.During the implementation of the MEL course mode,STEAM literacy cultivation was implemented into specific teaching activities,and students' experience of activities was enhanced through the 5E teaching mode.Under the guidance of real problems,teachers and students conducted in-depth interdisciplinary learning in real situations.Finally,the enlightenment of MEL course mode is summarized from three aspects:top-level design,cross-border integration and changing thinking.Through the above content,the author in the conclusion part of the full text is summarized,concise,and some deficiencies in this paper the difference is the logical starting point of education,to learn from other countries' experience is also an important part of education research in China,but MEL course was born in the United States,want to learn from its success also need to consider the differences between the two countries,considering
