With the development of core competence in China,more and more studies are focused on its implement.In the field of geographic education,it has become a necessary task to implement the core competence of geography.Although the core competence of geography brings new opportunities for geography education,it produces challenges to traditional teaching.The cultivation of geographical core competence is a long and continuous process.The traditional teaching stems from class periods and there is an inevitable conflict between them.Besides,there are some problems in the current geographic teaching,such as vague teaching objectives,the lack of students’ subjective role,and the emphasis on knowledge rather than literacy in teaching evaluation,which hinder the implementation of the core competencies of geography.Based on this,taking the unit teaching design as the starting point,this thesis tries to overcome the above problems and seek a feasible way to implement the core competence of geography,so as to cultivate students with the core ability and necessary character to meet the requirement of future work,study and life.According to the actual needs of geographic teachers at present,this thesis adopts the core quality of geography under the guidance of unit teaching design,and combines this new teaching design with high school geography.Through literature analysis,this thesis reviews the relevant research on core literacy and unit teaching design at home and abroad,and preliminary understanding of the current senior high schools’ status by unit teaching design based on core literacy.The connotation of "geographical core competence" and "unit instructing design" is also defined.Through interview on the front-line geographic teachers,it is found that these teachers confirmed their roles of unit teaching design in the implementation of the core quality of geography,but lack of relevant theories to guide the actual operation.Therefore,this study actively improves the theory of unit teaching design,analyzes the relationship between the core quality of geography and unit teaching design,and finds the similarity between them.Starting from the characteristic of the core quality of geography,this thesis is devoted to figure out the principles of teaching design of high school geography unit in terms of the core competence,which includes the principleof integrity,practice and situation with the aim to carry out the high school geographic unit instructing design based on core literacy.Under the guidance of the theory of constructivism,geography science,activity education and new classification of teaching objectives,the five-elements analysis of unit teaching design is correspondingly constructed.Taking "water" unit as the application example of high school geography unit teaching design based on core literacy,this thesis analyzes the elements of "water" unit teaching design by analyzing the five elements and intuitively shows how to apply the theory of high school geography unit teaching design based on core competence,and provides reference for front-line geography teachers.From the perspective of teaching design,it clearly answers the question "how to cultivate the students’ geographical core competence?".It is also proved that unit instructing design is one of the effective methods to cultivate the core competence of geography.
