In the field of teacher education,teacher professional growth has always been regarded as a key research content.High quality teacher education is the premise of improving the professional level of teachers.With the continuous progress and development of our society,the society has put forward higher requirements for the professional level of teachers,so building an outstanding teacher team is an inevitable trend of teacher education.There are many researches on the common characteristics and training models of excellent teachers at home and abroad,but there are few studies on the professional growth of outstanding teachers in the context of biology.Therefore,this article studies the professional growth of an excellent middle school biology teacher,and analyzes the main factors affecting its professional growth,aiming to promote the professional growth of ordinary teachers.The famous teacher is the actual representative of the excellent teacher,so this study selects a famous teacher in Hebei primary and secondary schools as the research object.According to the research needs,select the case study method to conduct research,sort out the research materials through a variety of methods such as narrative research method and physical research method,and describe the process of professional development of biological excellent teachers in middle schools according to the stage of professional development of ordinary teachers growing into excellent teachers,and analyze based on the growth process of teachers' professional qualities,and strive to show the true image and growth process of outstanding teachers.The study found that the professional growth process of high-level biological teachers in the middle school lasted a long time and showed a discontinuous upward trend.Combining the theory of teachers' professional growth stage and the description of middle school biology teachers on their own professional growth stage,this study divides the professional development of middle school biology teachers into four stages,which are pre-employment preparation stage,onboarding adaptation stage,post-employment growth stage,post-employment maturity stage.The focus of the four stages of professional growth is different: teachers pay attention to the acquisition of teaching skills and the construction of teachers' morality in the pre service preparation stage,and to adapt to the role of teachers in the entry adaptation stage with the main purpose of improving students' performance;the post-employment growth phase is in the golden period of professional growth of teachers,teachers in the post-employment growth stage continue to carry out teaching practices,use teaching skills proficiently,and gradually form their own educational concepts;while the teachers in the post-mature stage have already possessed strong teaching and research capabilities,and give full play to the leading role within a certain area to help the professional growth of young teachers.Analyzing the key events in each stage based on the specific stages of the professional development of middle school biological excellence teachers,we can draw the following conclusions:(1)Having a firm educational belief is the fundamental driving force for the professional growth of high school biology teachers;(2)Superb teaching skills are the main performance of outstanding biology teachers' achievements in professional growth;(3)Adhere to the combination of teaching and research is a key way for the professional growth of high school biology teachers;(4)The background of the curriculum reform provides opportunities for the professional growth of high school biology teachers;(5)Lecture competition is an effective way for middle school biology teachers to improve their professional level;(6)The leadership of key figures is an important reason for the rapid growth of high school biology teachers in their profession.
