In recent years, with the aggravation of international competition, the competition for talents in various countries is becoming more and more fierce. Therefore, under the promotion of the national government, the relevant departments and local governments have formulated a series of policies to attract returned talents. With the significant improvement of China's comprehensive national strength, the overseas students also realize that there are more domestic development opportunities, and the government's attraction for talents, more and more overseas students choose to return home for development. At the same time, researchers also found that: for most returned talents, their most concern is the academic development after returning home, that is to say,the academic development prospect after returning home is the most important factor affecting the return of returned students.Although China's comprehensive national strength is constantly improving, social economy, education and other aspects of the development level is significantly enhanced, however, many returned teachers in Colleges and universities do not develop smoothly after returning home, and they encounter many difficulties in life and work, especially some new returned teachers in Colleges and universities are difficult to integrate into the domestic academic environment,so the academic development is slow,or even difficult to do.Therefore,we can't wait to study the adaptation of returnees to the domestic academic environment. The first chapter mainly introduces the research background, the current research situation, the purpose and significance of the research and the research process.First of all,the second chapter mainly introduces the core concepts and theoretical basis of this study, pointing out the direction for the research and analysis. The third chapter uses the qualitative research method, through in-depth interviews to collect data to show the adaptation of the four new returnees to the domestic academic environment.Starting from the connotation of the academic environment,it presents the different experiences and feelings of the four research participants to adapt to the academic material environment, the academic spiritual environment and the academic institutional environment Based on the adaptation theory, this paper analyzes the influencing factors of each participant's adaptation to the academic environment from the internal and external perspectives, organizational factors, cultural factors and personal factors. The fourth chapter mainly summarizes the conclusion of this study on the basis of the third chapter, and puts forward suggestions to help the returned teachers adapt to the domestic academic environment quickly and smoothly from the government level, the university level and the returned teachers' personal level, and finally points out the shortcomings of this study. The conclusions are as follows:(1)returnee teachers can adapt to the domestic academic environment, but their adaptation process is not smooth, they will encounter some obstacles and difficulties. At the same time,in the process of adaptation, most returned teachers will actively or passively choose to adapt and integrate into the domestic academic environment, even if they know some imperfect aspects of the domestic academic environment. Finally,up to now, there are still some mala djustments in the domestic academic environment.(2)The factors that affect the new returnees' adaptation to the domestic academic environment are the service of the administrative department, the lack of scientific research equipment and facilities, the imperfection of the academic system, the cultural differences between foreign countries and their own countries, and the personal factors of returnees, such as the lack of psychological preparation before returning home, high expectations and passive coping style.
