With In my overseas Chinese practice,I have found that there is a difference in the degree of acceptance of the same teaching method by different age groups of students in the same teaching content,and there is also a difference in the teaching style between secondary school students and elementary school students,and this difference needs to be appropriately adjusted by teachers when using the game teaching method.This paper analyzes and investigates the differences in the teaching effectiveness of the same game teaching method among different students at Singapore International School of Manila,using a combination of case study and comparative analysis,and referring to relevant teaching theories.The aim is to prove the feasibility and necessity of the game teaching method in Chinese vocabulary classes at the elementary level;to summarize the desirable features and shortcomings of the game teaching method through classroom case studies,post-class reflections and students' feedback,and to propose corresponding solutions to the current problems of the game teaching method.It is hoped that it can provide some reference opinions for future Chinese teachers' vocabulary classrooms.The paper discusses the use of the game teaching method in Chinese vocabulary teaching in six parts: origin,theoretical foundation,teaching design,case practice,comparative analysis,and reflection and improvement.Through the practice of game teaching method in Chinese vocabulary classroom for 4th and 7th graders,combined with Erikson's personality development theory and Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory,the following problems of game teaching method in teaching Chinese vocabulary at different ages are analyzed: classroom management,unreasonable game arrangement,single game teaching mode,insufficient game relevance,and students' participation.At the same time,from the teacher's point of view,the following improvement measures are proposed for the game teaching in response to these problems: emphasizing the rules of the game and classroom rules,ensuring the fairness of the game,enriching the game teaching mode,conforming to the students' Chinese level and age level,paying attention to and respecting students' individual differences,etc.The aim is to teach Chinese in the future according to students' age characteristics and to give full play to students' age advantages;to help solve the problem of "talking about words in isolation" in vocabulary teaching and to strengthen the systematic teaching of vocabulary;and to provide new ideas for the application of game teaching method in Chinese teaching.
