A Comparative Study On The Career Planning Of College Students From Different Origins

Currently,there are more and more university graduates in our country every year,the employment situation of graduates is becoming increasingly serious,which putting forward higher requirements on college students career planning and related educational work.Therefore it is of great significance to deeply investigate the career planning level of college students.This paper intends to draw on the advanced achievements of foreign countries in this field,especially the theoretical framework of career planning,and conduct the investigation and comparative research from the perspective of the student from different areas.Based on the study for the research findings of career planning and construct the theoretical framework of this study,this paper uses the mixed research approach,which is the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods.Firstly,through the platform of Wenjuanxing,1,200 questionnaires were distributed to the students from eight“Double-First Class" universities in Beijing,and 1,1 06 valid questionnaires were finally collected.The SPSS26.0 software was used to sort out and analyze the valid questionnaire data that come to know the overall level of the college students' career planning as well as the four dimensions(cognition,preparation,behavior,and correction)of career planning for the students;secondly,from the perspective of the student from different areas,the level of the career planning of urban and rural college students from the east,middle,and west was compared and analyzed;then,based on the questionnaire data,the analytic hierarchy process was used to establish a hierarchical model to analyze the weight of each dimension in the career planning,and the regression model was used to explore the external factors that may affect the various dimensions of the career planning of college students from different areas;finally,based on the research,this paper tries to propose strategies and suggestions to improve the career planning level of college students.The study demonstrates that the overall career planning level of the college students is above average,but there is still room for improvement.The rural college students' career planning level is lower than that of urban college students,and the students from eastern areas is significantly higher than those from central and western areas,and the students from western areas has the lowest career planning level.Specifically,the overall level of career planning for college students who from eastern cities is the highest,and the college students who from western rural areas has the lowest score;in terms of cognition,preparation,and correction,both the eastern and western regions showed that the level of urban college students was better than that of rural college students,while the central region showed that rural college students were better than urban college students;at the behavioral dimension,the western region shows that urban students are better than rural students,and the eastern and central regions shows that rural students are better than urban students.Regarding the influencing factors on this paper,in terms of internal component:for college students from different areas,the behavior dimension is the most important aspect in career planning;for urban and rural college students from the eastern and central areas,the second most important aspect is the correction,and for students from west areas,the correction and preparation dimensions are equally second important to them;the cognitive dimension has the least weight for college students from different areas.The impact of external factors on career planning:grades,majors,father's education,mother's education,father's occupation,mother's occupation,annual family income,basis for choosing a school and major,pre-university learning experience,the experience of being student leaders,career planning educated experience,part-time or internship experience,the understanding of employment policy and employment situation have varying degrees of significant impact on college students' career planning level.Based on the analysis of the status and influencing factors of career planning levels of college students from different areas,as well as the analysis of the development for the career planning in foreign countries,this paper proposes some operational strategies for the improvement of college students' career planning level,including:supervise and guide college students to strengthen their objective understanding of the social employment environment,formulate clear and reasonable career goals as soon as possible,improve their own abilities and effectively put the goals into action,reflect in time and effectively evaluate and revise plans;recommend colleges and universities strengthen the employment guidance mechanism,establish specialized employment guidance agencies,implement career planning throughout the entire process of university education,and carry out targeted guidance for students from different areas.
