Academic procrastination includes many components,which are mainly reflected in many aspects such as knowing and doing.Academic procrastination is a common phenomenon in the process of students' learning.Research shows that academic procrastination not only affects the completion of tasks,leading to fluctuations in performance,but also brings adverse effects on individual emotions.Based on the previous research on academic procrastination at home and abroad,this study uses the questionnaire survey method to understand the current situation of Academic Procrastination of a middle school student in Beijing.On this basis,it further understands the factors that affect junior high school students' academic procrastination,and tries to intervene procrastinators through group counseling,so as to reduce the occurrence of junior high school students'procrastination and help them develop good learning habits And living habits,improve academic performance,provide the basis for improving the level of mental health.The results are as follows:(1)Procrastination is widespread among junior high school students.However,in the review task,homework task and self task,only 16.5%,18.8%and 22%of the students have frequent procrastination behavior and serious procrastination,and the degree of academic procrastination is relatively light.In addition,no matter whether the procrastination is serious or not,the willingness to change procrastination habits is very strong.Generally speaking,academic procrastination has more negative effects than positive effects on junior high school students.Only a few students can benefit from academic procrastination.(2)For those middle school students who have serious academic procrastination,the main reasons are their lack of willpower and self-control,unable to grasp the learning content well,lack of confidence in themselves and the herd mentality of waiting for their peers to complete the task together.The causes of academic procrastination can be summarized as individual affection,individual self-efficacy,class influence and task characteristics And others,and they all affect junior high school students' academic procrastination behavior in different degrees.(3)The gender of junior high school students and whether they are class leaders have no significant impact on academic procrastination.The reasons for academic procrastination are mainly affected by the grade,the harmonious relationship with their parents and the academic performance.For example,students who have a tense relationship with their parents are more likely to be affected by the class and have academic procrastination behavior.(4)Group intervention can significantly reduce students' academic procrastination and the frequency of academic procrastination.At the same time,students' academic performance also has a positive change,especially for the students with high procrastination,the reduction of academic procrastination promotes the improvement of their academic performance.(5)The group counseling program in this study is feasible,and the effect is in line with expectations.Students have a high evaluation of it and are willing to participate in it again.
