Since 2013,the concept of "data science" has only grown in popularity in China,and since 2018,it has become a major focus of China's higher education.More and more fields and industries around the world are gradually moving towards the new form of data.As an important source of talent cultivation,colleges and universities naturally need to carry out targeted education reform and mode transformation to provide effective talent output for social development and market demand.However,how to make data science education effective,how to learn from the excellent teaching experience of other countries for local integration,what kind of major to build and how to build this major are still the difficult problems faced by colleges and universities.This research mainly focuses on the late and vigorous development of Chinese colleges and universities and the early and relatively mature American colleges and universities,and adopts the form of comparative study to investigate the main differences in education modes between Chinese and American colleges and universities,and summarizes the excellent experience worth drawing from.In recent years,our country in view of the two countries in science education mode data contrast research increase gradually,and the surge in the number of the opening of the major domestic,the contrast is also in changes,this study focused on the research from multiple points of view to the comprehensive performance of the two,to enrich the data of science education in colleges and universities development philosophy,in a rapidly changing era of big data to better and more optimal thinking.Given the data in the scientific talent reserve has strong competitiveness,have very important reference,therefore this study choose contrast object is natural locking the Ischools member colleges and universities in the United States,as well as the USNews university top American colleges and universities,this article selects the 14 universities in North America,and 12 universities in Chinese mainland as the research object.During the study,using the method of online survey,comparative study method and the research methods such as documentary metrology,analyzed the data of colleges and universities in China and the United States science education present situation,summarizes the fundamental differences between strengths,and we should use for reference in plenty of cases,data information from training target,training mode,the core curriculum,graduation requirements,faculty,and paper conditions such as multiple dimensions,finally summarizes the beneficial enlightenment education at institutions of higher learning in our country,put forward to optimize data science talent cultivation system of countermeasures and Suggestions and ideas.
