Novel reading plays an important role in senior high school Chinese teaching.As a linchpin to the "three elements”,characters feature a high appreciation value,varied description approaches and assessment methods.But the teaching status of novels reveals problems,including a shallow understanding of texts,biases of personal appreciation,stereotyped analysis skills,etc.All these problems have dampened students' interest in reading and restricted the improvement of their core qualities in Chinese.Through questionnaire,personal interview and classroom observation,the author refers to the cause analysis in literatures,aiming at deepening the analysis of in-depth problems and precisely implementing strategies.Innovational classroom activities that are in accordance with the new curriculum requirements are organized,with the process management and assessment feedback strengthened so as to improve the teaching effect of novel characters feature.The content of the paper is divided into the three parts.Chapter 1 of this paper summarizes the major character images in novels selected for senior high school Chinese teaching.After the teaching content is identified,the characteristics and shortages of the textbook compilation are examined.The new curriculum and examination outline are combined to pinpoint the teaching objective and effectively guide teaching practices.Through questionnaire,students' novel reading interest,habit and character appreciation qualities are studied,and major problems existing in the current character image teaching.Chapter 2 expounds on relevant theories concerning character image portrayal,identifies the main content of novel teaching in the senior high school period,and points out improvement strategies,including text intensive reading and multidimensional interpretation,revolving around the theoretical status and problems of novel character teaching.Chapter 3 takes the teaching of the Lu Xun's novel Wish for example for textual interpretation and teaching research,and digs the appreciation value of novel characters feature to guide the course direction.On the basis of referring to a series of teaching plans,the author chooses three excellent classroom records for further analysis and reference.Author's detailed teaching plans for character appreciation are chosen for discussion,optimization and improvement.The students' learning situation research and process management,the "role play" immersive appreciation method is innovatively introduced to enrich the classroom activity forms,attract students for in-depth participation and achieve the goal of improving the the core quality of Chinese and efficiency via reflections.
