A Study On The Effect Of The Relationship In College Students’ Interpersonal Through Group Counseling Course

In college students group, the interpersonal cause psychological problems have a majorproportion. Therefore, the researchers committed how to improve college students’ interpersonalskills and relationship status. Focusing on the interpersonal issues, taking college students in auniversity of Hangzhou as the research object, after a series of structural and professional groupcounseling, through interview and measurement, we investigate the effects that group counselinghas on college students’ interpersonal. In the end, we assess the positive effect of group counselingand put forward some improving aspects.Firstly,67students, volunteered for the course of interpersonal relationship and group trainingas the elective, and in the same proportion,75randomly selected volunteers, which are the reserchobject. Then, College Students’ Interpersonal Relationship Comprehensive Diagnosis Scale,Interaction Anxiousness, Acceptance of Others, Personal Report of Communication Apprehension(PRCA-24), Buss Shyness Scale (RSS) and UCLA Loneliness Scale have been raised as theevaluation tool. We set the67students as the experiment group, who are led with two leaders (A, B)separately. At the same time,75students are control group. Professional group counseling has beensuccessfully carried out7times after pretest, left the control group without any intervening. Thepretests and post-tests data is collected. At last, according to the data, we compare the intra-groupand inter-group and estimate the effect of the group counseling.Comparing with pretests andpost-tests results, a significant difference emerges in College Students’ Interpersonal RelationshipComprehensive Diagnosis Scale and Interaction Anxiousness between group A and group B. Whenit comes to Acceptance of Others, group B get a significant difference but group A not, there is areverse when we concentrate on Buss Shyness Scale (RSS). Personal Report of CommunicationApprehension (PRCA-24) and UCLA Loneliness Scale does not show obverse change in bothgroups.From the study, get the following conclusions:(1) Group counseling plays an active role ineasing the trouble of undergraduate interpersonal communication, especially in interaction anxiety,acceptance of others and shyness.(2) For different experimental group, different organizersimplementing the same course scheme bring varying effects. In the aspect of accommodation, groupB shows great difference before and after the tests, as for communication apprehension andloneliness, the two groups have not significant difference, indicating that the group counselingcourse does not play a big role in influencing communication apprehension and loneliness.(3) Thefollowing factors may have an impact on the effects of group counseling: course scheme,implementation sequence, individual differences and respective psychological characteristics.
