High school geography is a basic subject connected with geography curriculum of compulsory education,which reflects the essence of geography,and embodies the basic ideas and methods of geography.In recent years,it has been clearly proposed in the curriculum standards of geography to cultivate students' core qualities of geography,such as human-earth coordination view,comprehensive thinking,regional cognition and geographical practice ability,in order to promote students to establish good geographical thinking.However,it has been a topic of concern to improve students' interest in geography at the beginning of senior one because geography has not been paid attention to,students' learning interest is low and the classroom learning effect is poor.Both the national opinions on fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue and the outline of the medium and long-term reform and development plan for education clearly require that students' main positions be respected and individualized differences in teaching be emphasized.The geography curriculum reform itself also requires the innovation of students' learning methods,the student-centered teaching activities,the curriculum content should meet the diverse needs of students' development and the actual needs of life,and give full play to their initiative and creativity.Therefore,it is of great importance to cultivate students' learning motivation and interest in geography teaching,whether from the perspective of the country or the geography course itself.MUSIC model,which professor Jones sums up in combination with pedagogy and psychology experiment research,is a learning motivation model base.It includes five elements: empowerment(Empowerment),usefulness(Usefulness),success(Success),interest(Interest)and caring(Caring).That is,teachers should design teaching from these five dimensions,empowering students with classroom rights(M),making students understand the Usefulness of the course or teaching activities(U).Then,in a classroom atmosphere full of Interest(I)and through effort,students can experience Success in a variety of teaching activities(S)and gain a positive impact on personal learning and life(C).Applying the theory to senior high school geography teaching aims to improve the current situation of middle school students' low learning motivation in the mode of traditional teaching,stimulate learning interest in geography,improve self-esteem and self-efficacy,enrich MUSIC learning motivation model related research in the field of education teaching in our country and provide practical references for the study of the learning motivation in geography teaching.The research methods of this paper mainly include: literature method,questionnaire survey method,interview method,action research method,and educational experiment method.Through the literature research method,the research status and theoretical basis of MUSIC learning motivation model were summarized,and the feasibility of applying MUSIC motivation model in high school geography teaching was analyzed according to the curriculum standards and students' development level.The data collected by questionnaire survey and interview were used as the basis for experimental analysis and evaluation.Experimental study based on MUSIC motivation model was carried out in experimental class and control class,and the application effect of the model was tested from two aspects of academic performance and learning motivation.Finally,it summarized the research results and systematically put forward teaching strategies on the application of MUSIC model in high school geography.The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)Based on the in-depth study and analysis of MUSIC motivation model,it is found that this model can deepen students' understanding of geography knowledge in the form of activities,stimulate their learning motivation and create a relaxed and pleasant classroom environment;it can improve teachers' understanding of the original learning mode and learning ideas,enhance teachers' professional competence and improve teaching strategies.(2)Music Motivation Model is consistent with the psychological development level of high school students and the formation of brain information.Among them,the ideas of giving students classroom rights,meeting the current and future learning needs of students,interesting classroom environment and making students experience success and care are consistent with the requirements of innovating students' learning methods in the new curriculum standard of high school geography.(3)Applying MUSIC model to experimental teaching,investigating the status quo of learning motivation in senior one,collecting relevant data of model research and then analyzing the application effect of this model,it is found that the academic performance and the motivation performance of various elements of the model in experimental class are significantly higher than that in control class.(4)Based on the teaching concept of MUSIC motivation model and the experimental study of geography education,this paper summarizes the strategy of applying MUSIC learning motivation in high school geography teaching,and puts forward the motivation strategy of applying the model application process,application principle and five elements of the model in high school geography teaching.(5)Taking “the Influence of the Sun on the Earth in Geography 1” as an example,high school geography teaching case is designed based on MUSIC learning motivation model.From the case design process,case design preparation,teaching objectives,teaching methods,teaching process,case analysis and other aspects,it shows the value of application of the model in high school geography teaching.The innovation of this paper is mainly reflected in the following aspects: drawing on the foreign research results of “MUSIC Motivation Model” to enrich domestic researches on learning motivation model;through educational experiment method,this paper deepens practice and application of the model in the field of primary and secondary schools,summarizes the application strategies of MUSIC model in high school geography teaching,and provides theoretical and practical reference for the cultivation of learning motivation in geography teaching.
