Life and death are inescapable experiences for everyone,and the finite nature of life is the most helpless and unconfrontable fact for human beings.The French writer Victor Hugo said,"Death is the great equal".Since we cannot transcend beyond life and death,why not face it bravely? However,because death is unknown,frightening and uncontrollable,and because traditional Chinese culture holds a scrupulous attitude toward death,life education,especially death education from the perspective of life education,is sorely lacking.The language curriculum is a humanities subject,and its rich humanistic connotation has a profound and extensive impact on the spiritual world of students.In contemporary society,the overall awareness of life is weak and people often lose their way in the materialistic world.Primary school is an important stage for forming a correct worldview,outlook on life,values and a sound personality,so the nurturing function of the elementary school language curriculum and the penetration of death education are especially important at this time.This study is divided into four parts:firstly,the first part of the introduction is to explain the reason for choosing the topic,the significance of the study,the review of the study,and the content and method of the study;the second part,that is,the second chapter,is the study of the content of death education in the primary language textbook of the Ministry of Education,which mainly includes the investigation of the relationship between life education,death education and life and death education The third part,that is,Chapter 3,mainly analyzes the highlights and shortcomings of death education that appear in the primary language textbooks of the Ministry of Education.The fourth part is to propose corresponding optimization strategies for strengthening death education in elementary school language from three aspects: teaching materials,teachers and schools,in view of the shortcomings of death education at the elementary school level.This study combines the current situation and problems of death education in primary language teaching,and gives relevant suggestions to teachers for death education and textbook writers for compiling death education content,hoping to help the penetration of death education in primary language teaching,enhance the understanding of death education,and promote the development of language education and life education.
