In September 2014,the State Council issued “implementation Opinions on Deepening the Reform of the Examination and Enrollment System”,marking the beginning of a new round of college entrance examination system reform in China.On April 23,2019,as the third batch of new college entrance examination reform region of Chongqing has released the “Chongqing Municipal Comprehensive Reform Implementation Scheme for Deepening the Entrance Examination of General Colleges and Universities”,the regulation adopts“3+1+2” mode of course selection,students from physics and history first choose a subject for the college entrance examination subjects,form chemical,biological,geography,politics,four subjects selected two door as the college entrance examination subjects,a total of 12 in this mode selection combination.Under the new “3+1+2” mode of college entrance examination,the number of students choosing chemistry in Chongqing is far less than expected.Compared with the proportion of students choosing chemistry in 2021 and science in 2020,the number of students choosing chemistry shows an obvious downward trend.Therefore,it is very necessary to study the motivation of Grade one students in chemistry elective examination and put forward corresponding teaching strategies on this basis,so as to enable more students to take chemistry elective examination and improve the problems and challenges faced by chemistry subject.In this paper,literature analysis is adopted to consult journals,papers,government work reports and other relevant literature,to understand the new college entrance examination reform policies of Chongqing and the situation of students' chemistry selection under the mode of "3+1+2",to find out the existing problems and the significance of the research,so as to determine the research content of this topic.Then a questionnaire was sent out to some students of Grade One in six high schools in Wanzhou District,Chongqing,to investigate the motivation of Grade One students in chemistry elective examination,and to analyze the motivation of Grade One students in chemistry elective examination at present.This paper makes a further investigation and research on the primary motivation of chemistry elective examination,namely students' chemistry scores,and analyzes the main factors that affect students' chemistry scores.Finally,this paper puts forward targeted suggestions and teaching strategies to improve the motivation of Grade One students in chemistry examination,providing reference for middle schools and first-line chemistry teachers.The research findings of this subject are as follows :(1)50.1% of the senior high school students said that they would choose chemistry as their subject and class;(2)The students of Grade One are not familiar with the new college entrance examination plan,and the understanding of chemistry is not enough.Most of them have no career plan.(3)The primary motivation for students to choose chemistry or not to choose chemistry;(4)Students' efforts in learning chemistry,their interest in learning chemistry and teachers' attitude towards students are the main factors that affect students' chemistry scores.Finally,according to the results of this investigation and research,the following suggestions and teaching strategies are proposed to improve the motivation of Grade One students in chemistry selection examination: to help students fully understand the new college entrance examination;Strengthen students' understanding of the value of chemistry;Strengthen the development and implementation of career education;In order to improve students' interest in chemistry learning,some teaching strategies are adopted,such as "appropriate interplacement of chemistry history","reasonable use of multimedia assisted teaching","emphasis on chemical experiment","situational teaching",etc.Finally,to be a teacher that students like: change the teaching concept to take students as the main body,keep learning,enhance teachers' professional skills,and build an intimate teacher-student relationship.
