As an important part of social governance, grassroots governance is a deep foundation and important support for the governance and stability of the country. The community, which is the basic unit of people's life,is an important aspect of urban grassroots governance. However,as the process of urbanization accelerates, community governance issues have gradually emerged, especially the governance issues of the community environment. Therefore,it is extremely important to find a reasonable and effective governance model. As one of the professional methods of social work, community work is committed to integrating community resources, solving and preventing community problems in a planned and step-by-step manner, and promoting social stability and development. The multi-center governance structure of governance theory and the self-help and mutual aid governance methods of the regional development model also emphasize that solving community problems and promoting community development requires mobilizing community forces and integrating resources.Based on this, this article starts from the governance theory and regional development model, and believes that the community environmental problems are manifested in many aspects. The dirty and poor community ecological environment is an intuitive manifestation, and the lack of cultural construction such as community sense of belonging, residents' awareness of participation, and lack of autonomy are due to The substantive reason for it.Social workers adopted the regional development model of community work at the project site, combined with governance theory, and carried out professional social work services for the environmental governance of the X community in Nanjing. This article summarizes the experience and model of social work participating in the governance of community environmental issues through the research project development process and implementation effect. The professional practice of participating in community environmental governance in this social work shows that the following models can be adopted in the governance of the community environment: First, common environmental issues are the starting point.Residents have a weak sense of individual responsibility, leading to numerous environmental problems. The common environmental problems are closely related to the public interests of the residents, and can attract the attention of the residents. The second is to set phased goals.Governance of community environmental issues should be a gradual process and cannot be accomplished overnight. The setting of phased goals is conducive to rationally arranging the governance process. The third is the combination of external support and endogenous forces. The governance of community environmental issues is not an isolated process. The integration and utilization of internal and external resources can improve the efficiency of resource allocation and give better service effects. The fourth is to establish a governance mechanism for multiple participants. The main body of community environmental governance should be diversified, and it is difficult for a single governance body to deal with the diversified problems that appear in the governance process. The fifth is to give play to the role of community self-organization.Community self-organization is an important carrier for residents to participate in community affairs and conduct democratic consultations. Its sustainable operation conforms to the long-term characteristics of environmental sanitation remediation and is conducive to the formation of a continuous environmental governance mechanism.
