Research On The Cultivation Of Chinese Middle School Students' Mathematical Modeling Ability Under The New Curriculum Standard

The rapid development and extensive application of mathematics,especially the close combination between mathematics and computer science,have not only brought huge impacts,but also new requirement on mathematics learning and mathematics education.Thus great emphasis is placed on mathematics education worldwide.Moreover,with the advance of technology,the demand for mathematics talents has changed tremendously.Mathematical knowledge is more required to solve the practical problems in life.All these ask for the talents in mathematical modeling.Therefore,every country starts the reform on mathematics education,and to solve practical problems through mathematical modeling has become a hot issue for the reform.The new curriculum reform is proposed in response to the weak innovation capability of Chinese students.Mathematical modeling is one of the important means to cultivate innovation capability and improve the capability to apply mathematics.The new curriculum standards for junior high schools have put forward requirements for mathematical modeling capability.In recent years,many schools have introduced and given top priority to mathematical modeling courses.This article focuses on how to cultivate and improve students' mathematical modeling capability.Mathematical modeling is a comprehensive application capability that requires long-term cultivation.This article mainly discusses on how to improve students' problem-solving capability,cultivate their mathematics practical consciousness and enhance their mathematical literacy,hoping to provide reference for the current teaching on mathematical modeling,serve the development of mathematical modeling activities in middle schools,and promote implementation of the new curriculum.For mathematics teaching in junior high school,besides mathematics knowledge and skills,it is also necessary to cultivate students' other capabilities.Mathematical modeling,as one of the important mathematical capabilities,is of great significance to cultivate students' capability to analyze and solve problems,and to improve their comprehensive level of mathematics.Therefore,it is crucial to fully recognize the importance of mathematical modeling and actively search effective ways to cultivate such capability.The article first introduces the connotation of mathematical modeling,then analyzes the necessity of cultivating such capability,and finally proposes some feasible measures on how to cultivate the capability.
