Since the peaceful liberation of Tibet,the social and economic has been development rapidly.Under the guidance of the spirit of the Central Work Symposium in Tibet,the brother provinces and cities has carried out continuous assistance to Tibet.The educational assistance has brought great changes to Tibet's education and has made remarkable achievement.However,due to natural conditions and historical factors,there are still many weak areas in Tibet's education.As a graduate student majoring in subject teaching(mathematics)in the College of Science of Tibet University,under the guidance of tutor,I have carried on the preliminary investigation on the middle school education in Lhasa in the first year.The investigation found that the students in Lhasa have poor operation ability,low accuracy rate,low selfefficacy of some students in mathematics learning,and easy to produce the phenomenon of learned helplessness.However,operation occupies a large proportion in junior high school mathematics,and students' computing ability will also affect the development of other mathematical abilities.In this regard,through consulting literature and further field investigation,I determined the research direction and research content:(1)testing the mathematical operation ability of the eighth grade students in Lhasa junior high school;(2)understanding the present situation of teaching and analyzing the difficulties;(3)putting forward suggestions through investigation,theory and practice.This article mainly adopts the literature research method,the questionnaire survey method,the interview method and so on research method.On the one hand,through the student questionnaire to understand the student to the mathematics operation attitude and the habit as well as the operation knowledge,the rule,the skill master.Through the design related mathematics problems to measure the student's operation ability.On the other hand,through student questionnaires to understand the student's attitude toward mathematics and practices and the operation law of knowledge skill.The test paper is written under the guidance of the firstline mathematics teacher.It examines the students' algorithms and reasonable selection of operation methods,excavates the information in the topic and understands the meaning of the relevant mathematical concepts,and the practical application of mathematical operations in life.The compilation of the questionnaire is based on the relevant research results,combined with the actual situation of Lhasa students.According to the teaching quality of Lhasa Middle School and the distribution of students,the first junior middle school,the second junior middle school,the third junior middle school,the Jiangsu middle school and the eighth junior middle school in Lhasa were selected as the research objects on the formal research.In addition,the author combined with the research content,the teachers and students of the subjects were interviewed to supplement the contents not covered by the questionnaire.Through collecting,processing and analyzing the data,combined with interviews,the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)The students' operation ability is poor.(2)There is a gap in computing ability between Tibetan and Chinese classes.(3)Students' practical ability of operation application needs to be improved.There are two factors affecting students' operation ability.(1)Internal factors: students' learning motivation and belief,learning strategies and language barriers;(2)External factors:teaching environment and facilities,teaching material setting,parents' attention.In view of the problems,the following training strategies are put forward from the national level and teachers' teaching level.(1)At the national level: increasing the investment in education to promote the modernization of education in Tibet;taking national characteristics into consideration and improving teaching material setting.(2)At the teachers' teaching level: stimulating students' learning motivation and cultivating their learning will;paying attention to the basis of operation and doing a good job of mathematics teaching cohesion;attaching importance to the operation process and cultivating students' good operation habits;paying attention to the training of operational flexibility,and enhancing the ability to solve practical problems.
