This study delves into the interactive relationship between professional competencies and an individual's level of competence,whilst taking into account how competency-based education changes the relationship and ultimately effects the overall learning experience.A single time survey comprising of 200 professionals and students from around the world,all with the common linking factor of having entered a higher education program like in a university institution,found that a strong relationship was present between the transfer of competencies from education institutions to professional industries.The findings of this study indicate that a strong focus on competency-based curriculum is related to the higher level of competencies an individual attains.This paper explores how applying skill-based knowledge through competency-based curriculum prepares individuals better in operational and tactical levels of professional tasks.The purpose of this study is to highlight and emphasise the importance of applying competencies to curriculum design and its effective role in an individual's learning experience.The findings of the research conducted are presented in the following chapters of this study,as well as the results of the empirical analyses and insights of what was found.
