Coordination quality,like speed,endurance and other physical qualities,is a necessary physical quality for the body to participate in sports and plays a pivotal role in the body's rapid mastery of technical movements [1].Secondary school is an important stage in developing students' coordination skills.As a relatively new sport,pattern skipping rope is not restricted by the venue and can not only increase students' motivation to attend physical education classes,promote students' physical and psychological health and development,cultivate students' perseverance,but also invariably cultivate students' coordination quality and comprehensive physical quality.This paper uses literature,expert interviews,questionnaires,experimental methods,mathematical and statistical methods,and comparative analysis methods to design and implement a total of 8 weeks of teaching experiment was designed and implemented with the junior class(3)and class(4)of the Guangzhou Bayi Experimental Middle School as the experimental subjects,and through the experimental research on the effect of the intervention of pattern skipping rope exercise on the coordination quality of secondary school students,the following conclusions are drawn.1.The intervention of pattern skipping rope in physical education classroom has a facilitating effect on students' coordination quality.The students in the experimental group showed significant improvement in their performance in cross quadrant jump,one-minute rope skipping,one-leg stand with eyes closed and 30 m rhythm run after the intervention of pattern skipping rope.2.In the control group,the cross quadrant jump,closed-eye one-leg stand,30 m rhythm run,one-minute rope skipping and 10 m return run scores had some improvement compared with those before the experiment,but the improvement effect was not significant.3.Pattern skipping rope has the characteristics of portability,unrestricted venue and richness of movement,etc.At the same time,because pattern skipping rope needs the coordination of upper limb rope shaking and lower limb jumping to complete the basic movement successfully,it can improve the balance and coordination quality of students and can be carried out in schools.4.The training of pattern skipping rope is more interesting and operable compared with traditional training,which improves the students' enthusiasm of learning the technique to a certain extent,and also can guide students to learn more coordination quality training methods through the practice of pattern skipping rope,which promotes the development of students' overall physical quality.
