Background:executive function(Executive Function,EF)is an advanced cognitive process.when an individual performs complex cognitive activities,it can assist and control a variety of basic cognitive processes, enabling the individual to exhibit adaptive goal-oriented behavior including suppression, refresh, and conversion of three sub-functions.The cha-cha dance is the most representative dance in the Latin dance, which has the characteristics of lively music, dynamic rhythm, movement pattern and cheerful mood when dancing.Studies have shown that exercise can not only promote the development of children’s brain and cognitive ability, especially the development of children’s executive function, but there is still room for improvement in this field. For example,in the type of exercise intervention, the influence of coordinated exercise on children’s executive function is less investigated, and in the design of exercise intervention, the influence of systematic exercise teaching intervention on executive function is less investigated. Objective:To study the effect of cha-cha dance teaching on children’s executive function by designing a 8-week cha-cha dance teaching program for children aged8-10.Methods:44 children aged 8-10 years in a primary school in Shunde District,Foshan City were selected as experimental subjects,There were 23 children(6 men)in the experimental group,17 women,21 controls(9 men,Twelve women). In physical education, the experimental group for 8 weeks,2 times a week,a total of 16 classes of cha-cha dance teaching; The control group carried out routine physical education. Before and after 8 weeks of teaching intervention,Two groups of children need to complete Flanker tasks,2-Back tasks and smiling face conversion tasks,In order to test the suppression, refresh and conversion of the three executive functions of the subsystem changes.Among them, the test inhibition ability mainly adopts the reaction time index of the Flanker interference effect(that is,the conflict condition subtracts the consistent condition reaction time);Refresh ability mainly adopts 2-back reaction time and correct rate; The conversion ability mainly adopts the reaction time index of the conversion cost(that is,the conversion condition minus the non-conversion condition reaction). The statistical method of this study takes the above indexes as dependent variables,Carry out 2(group: experimental group, control group)×2(measurement time: pre-test,post-test)repeated measurement ANOVA.Results: After 8 weeks of continuous intervention in cha-cha dance teaching,The results showed that :(1)on the interference effect index of Flanker task, the interaction edge of group and measurement time was significant,F(1,44)=7.03;p=0.053).There was no significant difference before and after intervention in the control group,p>0.05;the experimental group had marginal significant difference,p=0.056.(2)In response time and accuracy of the 2-Back task,The interaction between group and measurement time was significant,F reaction time(1,44)=2.74,p<0.05;F accuracy(1,44)=9.35,p<0.05),Further simple effects show,Both the response time and the correct rate were better than the pre-test(p<0.05),However,there was no significant difference between the control group and the control group(p>0.05).(3)At the cost of smiling face conversion,The interaction between group and measurement time was significant,F(1,44)=2.67,p<0.05),Further simple effects show,Experimental group post test conversion cost less than pretest(p<0.05),However,there was no significant difference between the control group and the control group(p>0.05).Conclusion: 1.performing functional testing, children aged 8-10 years of Cha-Cha teaching for eight consecutive weeks performed better compared to the control group with routine physical class intervention(recess study)in this study.2.8 Zhou-Cha-dance teaching improved the three subsystems of children aged 8-10,but the improvement range of each subsystem is different, among which Cha-dance teaching has an obvious effect on the refreshing and conversion functions of children aged 8-10,and the suppression function is secondary. The results can provide a practical basis for the teaching scheme to improve the performance of children.
