Since ancient times,the rulers of successive dynasties have attached great importance to the compilation of historical books.Since the founding of New China,the government has paid more attention to history subjects and history teaching.In the Tang Dynasty,Liu Zhiji thought that the role of history was infinite and the foundation of the survival of the state or regime.In the contemporary era,Ren Jiyu once put forward that history is closely related to the fate of the national nation,and at the same time put forward that the government must increase its investment in history and historical disciplines and pay more attention to it.So to understand the meaning of local history education,we must first understand what is "history education ".First of all,we should be clear that education is simply teaching activities,in general,education is done by teachers and students.Then history education is a series of activities with school and other related places as the place,history as the teaching content,teachers and students as the main body,and students as the goal.But this definition belongs to history education in a narrow sense.In a broad sense,the place of history education is not limited to schools,nor to teachers and students.This is a kind of social activity,that is to say,history education belongs to a kind of educational activity of all mankind.The past education model can no longer adapt to the changes in the current international situation.Therefore,all countries are trying to cultivate high-quality talents,and educational reform has become an inevitable choice for all countries.In this case,the traditional "spoon-feeding" education has fallen far behind,and the teaching mode with teachers as the main body has been unable to train the talents needed by the society.Quality education includes creative ability training,self-study ability training,social morality education,world outlook education,outlook on life education,labor concept education,lifelong learning education and aesthetic concept and ability training.Under the quality education,the main body of the classroom has changed from the teacher as the main body to the student as the main body,and the teaching method has also changed,from the original teacher imparting knowledge,the student receiving knowledge to the student's independent inquiry,comprehensively enhances the student's ability to solve the problem.For junior high school students,interest is the best teacher.The local history education starts from the familiar history around the students,draws closer the distance between them and history,and then stimulates the students' interest in history.At the same time,in the process of learning local history,students need to constantly collect,organize,screen,analyze materials and cooperate with others to explore,set up historical materialism and space-time concept,carry out historical data demonstration and historical interpretation,which is conducive to promoting the all-round development of students.
