Reading is an important form of human learning activities and an important channel for human beings to obtain information,understand the world,develop thinking and obtain aesthetic experience.With the continuous innovation of curriculum concept,more and more attention is paid to the cultivation of students' subjectivity,autonomy and creativity in reading teaching,to the improvement of students' reading ability,and to the development of personalized reading teaching.Personalized reading teaching is based on students who are the main body of teaching,emphasizing the harmony and freedom between students and reading materials,respecting students' unique experience and personalized insights in reading.Personalized reading teaching can help improve students' independent reading ability,language expression ability and thinking ability,and promote the healthy development of students' personality.However,there are still some problems in the practice of personalized reading teaching.Some teachers still follow the traditional teaching model to explain to students word by word,introduce much more era background of works and the knowledge of authors' life experience to the students,which deviates from the theme of the reading teaching;or completely indulge students by providing students with a lot of information which be interpreted freely by students.By this way,students,coming up the views,are more emotional and lack of depth.Meanwhile,teachers not give guidance and evaluation.In the long run,students' reading ability can not be improved.The primary cause of these problem is that teachers do not grasp the “degree” of personalized reading,do not well dell with the relationship between the text center and the main body of students,and ignore the importance of text in the reading activities since all the reading activities must be around text.At the same time,respect the subjectivity of students,encourage students to bring their own experience into the text,but also play a good guiding role,so that students in the deep-seated reading to obtain rich,profound experience,to achieve truly personalized reading.The New Criticism which is one of the most influenced literary criticism theories was prevalent in the West in the 20th century.And its unprecedented emphasis and in-depth study of the text had a profound impact on both the literary and educational circles at that time.Although the literary criticism school has been emerging since then,the New Criticism has never been out of date,and even the later criticism school has been influenced by it.Its methods and ideas are still worthy of reference today.The New Critic advocates a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the text,excluding all factors unrelated to the text.And the reader discovers the meaning of the work through careful reading and deepens the reading experience from it,then produce aesthetic pleasure.This characteristic of the New Criticism has inspired how to deal with the relationship between students and text in personalized reading teaching.The introduction of the New Criticism into personalized reading teaching will help balance the relationship between students and texts,assist teachers and students to read deeply,improve reading appreciation ability,and avoid personalized reading teaching towards random.Meanwhile,personalized reading teaching can bring fresh vitality to the New Criticism and make the New Criticism more glorious.Therefore,combining the two can better achieve the goal of personalized reading teaching and promote the improvement of the quality of Chinese reading teaching.This article consists of six main parts:Chapter 1: This paper introduces the reasons for the study,combs related research literature of personalized reading teaching,the New Criticism and the New Criticism and Chinese reading teaching,which lays a theoretical foundation for the follow-up research.Moreover,from the perspective of theory and practice,the paper expound the value and significance of studying the combination of New Criticism and personalized Chinese reading teaching in middle school.Chapter 2: It Introduces the practical significance of the introduction of the New Criticism into Chinese reading teaching in middle schools.According to literature consultation and case data analysis,the existing problems in Chinese reading teaching in middle schools are summarized and the reasons are analyzed.The main causes include the cognitive deviation of teachers on teaching concepts,more emphasis on knowledge in reading teaching and neglect experience,text teaching interpretation become stereotyped and students' reading become random.However,The New Criticism provides the possibility to solve these problems.It helps to clarify the scope of personalized interpretation centered on text,avoid random interpretation,and provide multiple interpretation perspectives and standardized interpretation programs,bring personalized choice to Chinese reading teaching in middle schools,and makes the interpretation process orderly and more in-depth.Chapter 3: The teaching value of the New Criticism to the personalized reading of middle school students.The ultimate goal of introducing the New Criticism in personalized reading teaching is to promote the development of students.Therefore,it discusses the value and significance of the New Criticism to the Chinese personalized reading teaching in middle school from the student development level,mainly combining the main point of view of the New Criticism,from the cultivation of students' literary reading view,the improvement of thinking ability and the cultivation of aesthetic personality.Chapter 4: The development of personalized reading teaching under the guidance of the New Criticism.The introduction of the New Criticism will directly affect the practice of personalized reading teaching.In the aspect of teaching concept,teachers should establish an experience reading view based on respecting the text;in the aspect guidance about reading methods,teachers use the details of the New Criticism to interpret the text in multiple ways,and in the aspect of teaching method,teachers adopt multiple strategies around text and student interaction and combine the relevant cases to discuss.Chapter 5: The idea of personalized Chinese reading teaching in middle school language based on the New Criticism.Using the method of the New Criticism,Dai Wangshu's A Lane in the Rain is used as an example to carry out a detailed reading,and then the author try to do teaching practice to complete the teaching design.Finally,it points out that some attention need paying to in the introduction of the New Criticism into personalized reading teaching.Finally,the conclusion part.A general summary of the full text are concluded.The combination of the New Criticism and personalized reading teaching conforms to the law of Chinese teaching,and the advantages of the two complement each other,which can realize the effectiveness of teaching together,but there are still some shortcomings.
