In 2018,new amendment was released regarding mathematic curriculum standards for regular high school.In which,the new amendment proposed the six core quality that high school mathematic curriculum should cultivate student,including mathematics calculation ability.Mathematics calculation ability,as the foundation of math learning for students,mainly refers to the ability for students to identify the calculation objective,flexibly utilize algorithms,and to select the most appropriate and brief method to solve math problems amongst different options.Mathematics calculation,as a quality that students have been cultivated since enlightenment stage,is the basis for students learning math,and hold close connection with other qualities.With the increasing of grades,and expansion of math knowledge,the requirement of student' comprehensive ability are soaring.While many students gradually pay less attention to mathematical calculation,therefore not able to solve existing mathematical problem with their withheld ability.This article would mainly discuss the developmental situation of high school students' mathematical calculation literacy and its major problems,and propose effective solutions regarding the current situation,so as to provide certain value for reference from high school teachers and students to improve mathematical calculation literacy,which is of great practical significance.The paper first briefly summarizes the background and practical significance of research subject,and concludes the current research,and combining the author's teaching experience in the recent years,the paper proposes the research question and explains the reason,objective,and method of this research.The second chapter would elaborate on terminologies regarding“mathematical calculations”and familiarize the content,connotation of mathematical calculation and the level division of student's mathematical calculation literacy by high school math,thorough the research of academic journals.Chapter three will investigate as well as analyze the current situation and existing problems of high school mathematics calculation literacy through the methods such as questionnaire,survey,and interview.The data from questionnaire results were mainly analyzed to understand students' awareness regarding mathematical calculation.The paper summarizes and analyzes the problems students has shown by doing test questions,to learn about problems students have while doing specific math questions.The classroom connects students and teachers,and the development of mathematical literacy is a joint effort between students and teachers.Therefore,Chapter 4 will use the findings of Chapter 3 to summarise the problems of mathematical literacy among high school students in terms of students,teachers and the external environment.The main problems of students are their low level of mathematical operations,their poor reading skills,their weak grasp of the rules of arithmetic,their inability to develop appropriate ideas for different topics and their poor arithmetic habits.Teachers' problems are summarised in terms of their teaching philosophy,teaching methods and teaching demonstrations.The final analysis is in terms of the impact of external factors such as computers,mobile phones and computers on mathematical operations.Chapter 5 addresses the problems in Chapter 4 and proposes appropriate solutions,with regard to students.Raising the importance of mathematical operations,improving mathematical reading skills,deepening the understanding of formulae concepts,strengthening the exercise of operational thinking and focusing on habit formation.Teachers should also keep up with the times,update their teaching philosophy,improve their teaching methods and enhance their role as a teaching model.At the same time both teachers and students should seek a balanced relationship between electronic devices and learning,turning them into an aid in teaching and learning.Last but not least,the author summarizes the paper with the hope that this paper would help improve the mathematical literacy of high school students.
