The report of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China puts education at the top of improving people's livelihood and strengthening social construction,which fully demonstrates the great importance of the Party Central Committee on education and its firm determination to give priority to the development of education.The report puts forward that “taking the establishment of morality as the fundamental task of education” and cultivating all-round development of socialist builders and successors.Under the background of the new era,new requirements are put forward for the development of human beings,and the education of traditional Chinese culture has become the primary task of realizing the overall educational goal of "Living through morality and cultivating people".The "Guiding Outline for the Improvement of Chinese Excellent Traditional Culture Education" pointed out that the education of traditional culture should be promoted from the three levels of "patriotism","being in the world",and "cultivating one's morality".It consists of school education,family education and social education.To advance together,the development of national,local,and school-based curricula based on traditional culture is imminent.This research uses literature research methods,interview methods,classroom observation methods and other methods to explore the theories related to the development of elementary school mathematics contextual materials based on traditional Chinese culture.On the basis of theoretical exploration,follow the process and principles of contextual material development to practice material development,sort out the knowledge of the "graphics and geometry" section of the Beijing Normal University version,and go through the process of mining and selecting,processing and presenting contextual materials to develop "tangrams" "Chinese Garden Architecture","Chinese Chess" and other eight contextual materials,and select "Tangram" for teaching case design.Finally,some suggestions are made to frontline teachers regarding the integration of Chinese traditional culture into elementary school mathematics.At the same time,prospects for future research are put forward.On the whole,the research feature of this study is to abandon scattered case examples,systematically sort out the knowledge of "graphics and geometry",pay attention to the logical coherence between knowledge,and try to develop a close connection with the essence of mathematics that can help elementary students develop Situational materials of all aspects of ability provide reference for frontline teachers.
