With the continuous development of China's "double first-class" construction,the development of "first-class disciplines" has strengthened the competitiveness among disciplines in China's universities.Disciplines,as a kind of knowledge classification and institutional arrangement,are the basis for cultivating high-quality creative talents.Scientific and reasonable reference standards and evaluation system are the necessary conditions for building world-class disciplines.Discipline ranking is currently used internationally One of the more common evaluation criteria of disciplines,its core is the index system of ranking,which directly affects the scientificity and rationality of the ranking,and plays a certain role in stimulating and promoting the discipline construction.Under the background of "double first class" construction in China,it is of great significance to make a scientific and reasonable evaluation of the discipline ranking index system.However,there are many problems in the current ranking of world disciplines,such as the different classification of disciplines,the different emphasis of evaluation index and so on.Based on this,this paper selects the four most credible and representative university discipline rankings in the world: ARWU World University first-class discipline ranking,ARWU World University first-class discipline ranking,ARWU World University first-class discipline ranking US.News Based on the world university discipline rankings,QS World University Discipline rankings and the world university discipline rankings(four university discipline rankings),the discussion is carried out.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly describes the research background and significance of this paper,the review of domestic and foreign research on discipline evaluation,discipline ranking index system and comparison,the technical route of the research,and describes the content and method of this paper.The second chapter mainly defines the four concepts of "double first-class" construction,"discipline","discipline ranking" and "discipline ranking index system",combs the relevant system evaluation theory and horizon evaluation theory of university discipline ranking,and expounds the selection principles of discipline ranking index system,so as to provide analytical framework and theoretical guidance for the following research.The third chapter describes the connotation of discipline ranking index system at home and abroad,introduces the connotation of the four university discipline ranking index system,and summarizes the commonness and difference of the four university discipline ranking index system through the comparative analysis of the discipline classification,index content,weight and data sources of the discipline ranking index system.At the same time,this paper selects the number of each subject in the top 50 and top 200 of the four rankings in China's universities from 2017 to 2020,analyzes the stability of the ranking index system of each subject through the change of the number of each subject,and analyzes the consistency of the ranking of the four disciplines by selecting the ranking of Computer Science in China's universities from 2019 to 2020.In Chapter 4,through the analysis of the evaluation process of the four university disciplines ranking and the latest data of China's discipline ranking in Chapter 3,the characteristics of the four university disciplines ranking index system are summarized,and the existing problems of the four university disciplines ranking index system are found,such as the imperfect design of the ranking index system,the incomplete reliability of the index data acquisition,the lack of rationality of the index weight distribution,and the neglect of the index system The characteristics of the discipline and the matching degree between the general objective of the discipline evaluation and the evaluation index are not enough.In Chapter 5,using the system evaluation theory and horizon evaluation theory,the paper analyzes the influencing factors of the index system of four universities from five aspects: the scientific principle of the index system,the value relationship and value coefficient,the principle of index measurement,the value dimension,and the horizon principle.Chapter 6,combined with the analysis of the existing problems and causes of the four university discipline ranking index system,puts forward suggestions to improve China's first-class discipline ranking index system under the background of "double first-class",and provides reference for the better development of China's first-class discipline construction to a certain extent.
