Student participation is a necessary part of the education and teaching process.Classroom implementation is inseparable from student participation.It is related to the effect of teaching implementation and is closely related to the effectiveness of student learning.The process of participation is the process of learning.The new curriculum reform encourages students to take the initiative to participate in classroom teaching,and strive to build quality participation of all staff,which is the key to promoting students' all-round development.The research question of this article is what is the status quo of elementary school students' participation in Chinese classrooms? What characteristics does it present?This research adopts observation method and interview method.Taking a primary school in Shihezi City as the research site,the language classes of grades 1-6 are selected for observation and video recording,and at the same time,the language teachers of the class are interviewed.The research analyzes the characteristics of students(gender,class),teachers(expert teachers,novice teachers),and class nature(regular classes,demonstration classes)from the three dimensions of active participation behavior,passive participation behavior and non-participation behavior.The study found that: elementary school students' participation behaviors vary with grades.Low-and middle-class students have more active participation behaviors and less high-class students;passive participation behaviors occur more frequently in the high-segment than in the middle and low-segments;non-participatory behaviors The frequency also increases with the increase of grade;in terms of participation,students' active participation is mainly based on answering teacher's questions,while students take the initiative to ask questions,participate in classroom discussions and other active participation behaviors are less;relative to novice teachers,experts Type teachers are better at mobilizing students' participation enthusiasm,novice type teachers mainly focus on the classroom process,but ignore student participation behavior,expert teacher type pays more attention to the individual reaction of students,and can organize classroom teaching flexibly;the frequency of students' active participation behaviors in demonstration classes There are more and better quality than regular classes,but the participation behavior of students in regular classrooms is more real;the participation of boys and girls varies with grades.On the whole,girls have more participation behaviors.The problems with the classroom participation behavior of primary school students are:the formalization of classroom participation,with simple question-and-answer participation as the main form;passive collective participation in learning is more and simpler;the group that actively participates in teaching activities is fixed;Finally,each school stage has a certain degree of non-participatory behavior and other problems.In response to the above problems,explore the influencing factors behind them,and then make suggestions from schools,teachers,students and other aspects to improve the quality of student participation in Chinese classrooms.
