The new round of curriculum reform has made student development key competency as the goal of discipline education,which is also an important initiative to foster virtue through education.The General High School Geography Curriculum Standard(2017)takes geography practical power as one of the key competency of geography,which puts forward higher requirements for geography practical teaching.As a result,geography teachers should establish a new view of classroom teaching and a new view of students,from focusing on students' performance improvement to focusing on students' comprehensive development,from focusing on students' mastery of basic knowledge in textbooks to focusing on students' comprehensive training of practical operation ability,with the aim of promoting students' geography practical ability.This study is based on the new curriculum standard of high school geography,combined with the theory of geography practical power in key competency,and research methods such as literature research method,classroom observation method,questionnaire survey method,etc.,to study the situation of geography practical power cultivation of high school students.The investigation found that the following problems exist in the process of cultivating geography practical power of high school students.First,the lack of awareness of geography practical power among geography teachers.Second,the lack of corresponding ability of geography teachers.Third,less penetration of geography practical power in geography teaching.Fourth,the evaluation system lacks the examination of geography practical power.Fifth,the ways of cultivating practical power in geography need to be further expanded.Sixth,the lack of support and recognition from parents.In response to the above problems,this study proposes the following strategies from five aspects: strategies to improve teachers' literacy,strategies to improve geography teaching,strategies to improve the evaluation system,strategies to develop curriculum resources,and strategies to carry out geography practical activities.First,strengthening the professionalism of high school geography teachers.Second,penetrating geography practice power in geography teaching.Third,constructing an evaluation system that gives equal importance to both process and results.Fourth,developing geography curriculum resources to cultivate students' geography practical power.Fifth,cooperating with home and school to carry out geography practical activities.Finally,based on the high school geography curriculum standards,combined with the relevant contents of the textbook,according to the different types of geography practical teaching,the teaching cases of geography practical activities such as experiment,observation,investigation and fieldwork are designed respectively,in order to provide teaching examples for the cultivation of geography practical power of first-line teachers.
