With the rapid development of information technology,globalisation and big data in our society,we have new requirements for the cultivation of talents,and the goal of art teaching has become the five core qualitiesof art subjects.This new curriculum approach provides students with the opportunity to explore their own learning,which can enhance students' problem-solving and collaborative skills,cultivate systematic,multidisciplinary,creative and integrative thinking,and ultimately achieve the goal of art literacy.Firstly,the introductory section discusses the background,significance,purpose and methodology of this study,defines the theoretical concepts of the integrated curriculum concept and thematic unit teaching,compares the current status of domestic and international research on the integrated curriculum concept and thematic unit teaching,and usesfront-line art teachers and junior secondary school students as respondents to investigate and analyse the current situation of junior secondary school art development and the implementation of the thematic unit course model.Secondly,through the results of the survey and theoretical studies as reference,the feasibility and necessity of developing thematic unit courses in junior high school art under the concept of integrated curriculum is analysed.Afterwards,the teaching strategies and implementation paths are elaborated: firstly,the teaching strategies consist of five parts:focusing on students' overall development,using the art subject as the main line,focusing on social phenomena andclose to life,attaching importance to teaching transferability,and integrating the teachingcontents of thematic units.Secondly,the teaching implementation path includes the pre-settingof teaching objectives,setting of curriculum themes,analysis of integration elements,design of driving questions,setting of sub-unit curriculum,and innovative teaching evaluation.Finally,the author conducts a relevant teaching practice in the secondary school affiliated to Beijiwai in Chengdu.Based on the results of the curriculum practice,the teaching cases are analysed in four aspects :students' learning interest,learning style,learning ability,and relationship with teachers and students,and the significance and implementability of teaching thematic units in junior high school art based on the concept of integrated curriculum is explored.Throughacombination of theory and practice,the author summarises the core ideas of this paper----Carrying out a junior secondary art thematic unit course under the concept of an integrated curriculum is conducive to enhancing students' interest in learning,providing them with new ways of learning,developing their learning abilities and promoting a harmonious teacher-student relationship.
