Insisting on the unity of education of basic Marxist views and grasping the characteristics of the times is one of the basic concepts of high school ideology and politics classes.In the context of the new era,using current affairs commentary activities to teach Civics is an important initiative to reflect the political and topicality of Civics.It carries out the concept of quality education and implements the requirements of the new curriculum reform,which is not only conducive to the reform and innovation of the teaching of secondary school Civics,and enhances the affinity of secondary school Civics,but also helps to stimulate the learning interest of high school students and enhance their core literacy.The empirical investigation found that current affairs commentary activities have achieved some positive results in the teaching of high school Civics classes.The main manifestations are:the importance of current affairs commentary activities has increased,the implementation frequency of current affairs commentary activities has increased,the attractiveness and affinity of high school thinking classes has been strengthened,the political literacy and acumen of high school students has been significantly enhanced,and the ability of high school students to solve real-life problems has been improved in five aspects.At the same time,there are still problems in the use of current affairs evaluation activities in the teaching of high school Civics class,such as the lack of precision in the selection of evaluation materials,the lack of systematic and comprehensive evaluation,the lack of variety in the form of evaluation,and the limited participation in evaluation activities.Combining the important status and real-life dilemmas of current affairs evaluation activities in high school Civics class teaching,this study proposes the overall measures of selecting current affairs evaluation materials,optimizing evaluation resources,improving the evaluation process,enhancing teaching effectiveness,enriching evaluation forms,enhancing classroom vitality,focusing on competence development,and improving participation effects.It also puts forward some specific requirements for teachers,students and teaching,which are conducive to the better use of current affairs commentary activities in teaching high school Civics classes.With the continuous advancement and implementation of the new curriculum reform,current affairs commentary activities,as a practical teaching method,have played a catalytic role in promoting theoretical teaching in high school ideology and politics classes,promoting modern education reform,and cultivating a new man of the times with all-round development of moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic and social skills.It is important to effectively use current affairs review activities to jointly promote the improvement and development of the quality of teaching and learning in high school ideology and politics classes.
