Hot topics of current events are closely related to students' real life due to their own characteristics.According to the geography examination papers of the National College Entrance Examination in recent years,we can easily see that a large number of topics related to hot topics of current events appear.Therefore,how to apply current affairs hot spots in junior high school geography class is a problem worth studying and thinking about.Firstly,this paper investigates the use of current hot topics in junior high school geography teaching,finds out and looks for problems,and carries out follow-up research based on the research results.This paper analyses the necessity of applying current affairs hot spots in junior high school geography teaching.This paper makes a detailed explanation of the current situation of the application of current affairs hot spots in junior high school geography teaching from five aspects: the access,selection principle,classification,application principle and application mode.Combined with the application mode,taking the Antarctic region as an example,the paper designs specific teaching cases,carries out the teaching practice of current affairs hot spots in junior high school geography teaching,and observes and records the changes of students after the current affairs hot spots are applied to geography teaching.In order to be able to theoretically and practically provide some reference and help for frontline geography teachers to apply current affairs hot spots in their teaching.Through studying this article,the following conclusions are drawn: the application of current affairs hot spots in junior high school geography teaching is not optimistic,and both geography teachers and students have problems;Applying current affairs hot spots to geography teaching conforms to the development trend of education reform and meets the development needs of front-line geography teachers and students.Geography teachers need to master the way of information dissemination in the new era and the mode of applying current affairs hot spots to geography teaching.The link between current affairs hot spots and geography teaching is to analyze geography curriculum resources contained in current affairs hot spots.
