Influence Of High School Students' Mathematics Reading Ability On Mathematical Modelling Ability

This study focuses on the current situation of mathematical modelling and mathematical reading ability of grade two and senior three students,so as to explore the correlation between them,in order to put forward effective suggestions for improving the phenomenon of "how to reduce the large number of zero practical problems in the examination paper" and the mathematics classroom teaching of solving practical problems in high school.Therefore,first of all,I screened the questions related to solve practical problems in the college entrance examination math papers in the past decade,and discussed with tutors and front-line high school math teachers to determine the choice of questions related to mathematical modeling.Analyze and compare the existing questionnaires about mathematical reading ability,and then comprehensively consider the mathematical literacy and other factors to determine the mathematical reading questions;then read and analyze the literature,determine the measurement theory framework of mathematical modeling level 4 and mathematical reading dimension 4,conduct the empirical research of the model 4 level and reading 4 dimensions as the theoretical framework,with the help of SPSS,analyze the data,mathematical reading and correlation,and finally,learn how the mathematical reading ability affects the mathematical modeling ability.The questionnaire data and interview results show that the math reading ability of both sophomore and senior three students is not high,and there is no significant difference.The mathematical modeling ability of grade two and senior three students is at the lower medium level,indicating that students are trying to find out the quantitative relationship and establish a model,but they cannot transform the real situation.In addition,students' mathematical reading ability does have an impact on mathematical modeling ability,and the stronger the mathematical reading ability,the higher their completion when dealing with mathematical modeling problems,there is a strong positive correlation between the two;specifically,the stronger the student in mutual translation,understanding,reasoning and reflection,the more comfortable in modeling we will be,that is,the four are positively correlated with the mathematical modeling ability.Moreover,among the four dimensions,the dimensions of understanding discrimination and reasoning are the most relevant,so it is necessary to focus on strengthening students' ability to deeply understand the topic on the basis of the existing knowledge,and also need to cultivate students' ability to combine the existing knowledge to build new conclusions.
