The teachers of shadow education institutions are special groups,whose occupations are greater uncertain.Shadow education institutions have become a problem of social education governance,thus paying attention to teachers in shadow education institutions is helpful to standardize the governance of social education.In recent years,with the development of globalization of education,the system of shadow education is growing continually and society is increasingly concerned about the students' performance with the influence of shadow education and the relationship between public school and training school.While the teachers of shadow education have received few attention from the society.The choosing professional motive and role identity could influence the professional development and career happiness,achievement and satisfaction for teachers in the shadow education system.This study was titled "Why do I work as a teacher in a ‘shadow education'institution?” as a research question,“I” is a generalized first-person reference that can be translated to “you” “he/she” or “they”,rather than the author herself.The study explains the motivation of choosing career firstly to find out the reasons for becoming a teacher in shadow education.Then the research explains the source and formation of teacher roles,meanwhile the research discuss the feeling and thoughts of teachers in this system.This study takes some in-service teachers as subjects,and uses the qualitative method to understand the psychological process and personal experience of teacher,to catch the inner changes and feelings of them,and to observe the real states and values of teacher groups in this system.This study discovers that teachers' vocational motivation,identity and career happiness are influenced by internal and external reasons,which include self-development,tutoring organization,family background,environment,and public opinions and so on.With the strong vocational motivation,high self-evaluation,high self-efficacy and good comments from the whole environment,teachers will feel more happiness and achievement,gain higher professional identity and take more responsibilities in their career.While teachers make low evaluation about themselves,have unclear vocational development aims and dissatisfied demands,they would feel negative emotions and low self-efficacy.When they meet the discrimination and prejudice from the whole environment,they will feel less happiness in career and role confusion during the development.The author suggests that teacher of shadow education could improve themselves,keep positive emotions and comments and enhance professional skills and psychological qualities.Tutoring organizations,family and society are supposed to maintain the correct public opinions and values,respect teachers' personal dignity and teaching achievements and make comments on their abilities and levels objectively and fairly.The value of respecting and loving teachers should be established in the whole society which aims to encourage and support teachers of shadow education materially and spiritually.Only in this way could they go further and develop quickly in the near future.
