With the development of China's economy, tourism has been in a high-speed development stage, the ranks of tourism practitioners continue to expand, the importance of tourism education is increasingly prominent.Professional recognition is an important factor in the professional study and professional selection of tourism students, which is related to the quality and stability of China's tourism talents.Throughout the domestic professional identity research, most of the research objects focus on undergraduates and higher vocational students groups, pay less attention to secondary vocational school students, and secondary education level tourism education plays an important role in the training system of tourism practitioners,so it is necessary to understand the professional identity status of secondary vocational students in tourism.Using literature analysis, questionnaire and interview method, this study selected four vocational schools in Nanjing to set up tourism majors to carry out research.Using the revised questionnaire, the professional identification status of vocational students in tourism was investigated from the four dimensions of professional study, professional prospect, professional teaching and professional attribution. The study found that the professional identity of tourism students in secondary vocational schools is generally at a moderate level, and there are significant differences in gender and grade. Most of the tourism professional vocational students are dissatisfied with the professional teaching situation, the prospects of the majors held a not positive enough attitude, only a small number of students are willing to actively study the majors, although the tourism majors have a certain sense of belonging, but still not high enough. The research shows that:(1)students who have a good understanding of the tourism profession before admission are more active in professional study after admission, more able to recognize the professional teaching arrangements of the school, and more confident about the development prospects of the tourism industry.(2)Boys than girls on the tourism professional identity is higher, which is different from the previous research conclusions, the reasons for analysis are as follows: boys are mostly based on their ability to choose the tourism profession, and girls are mostly following the choice of parents, personal character, characteristics and other aspects will have a significant impact on professional identity,so boys' professional identity is higher than girls.(3)Due to differences in educational resources and students' family background, the professional recognition level of urban students is significantly higher than that of rural students.(4)Students in the lower grades are more active in professional study than 1st graders and have a stronger sense of professional belonging, which is related to the school's vocational planning curriculum, the quality of practical internships, and the pressure on senior students to apply for higher education.Through the interview, this paper explores the influence factors of professional identification of vocational students in tourism majors, and divides them into four aspects: individual objective factors, individual subjective factors, school education and teaching situation, and social industry situation.Among them, the school level has the most significant impact on students' professional identity,so this article proposes the following recommendations from the perspective of secondary vocational school education and teaching: First, strengthen the enrollment and ideological education of tourism majors to guide students to form correct cognition;,To strengthen the image of the tourism profession, and establish a good professional reputation;third,to strengthen the education and teaching of the tourism profession,to improve the learning attitude and behavior of students;fourth,to strengthen the education of career planning to enhance the professional identity of students.
