In recent years,the global tourism market continues to grow rapidly,tourism investment and scenic spot development has increased the demand for tourism talents.However,on the other side of the booming tourism industry,the embarrassing phenomenon is the low entry rate and high turnover rate of students majoring in tourism management.The degree of students' identification with the major is related to whether they like the major or not.They intend to take the initiative to study the major and will be an important reference standard for career choice in the future.The research on professional identity has attracted much attention.However,the research objects tend to focus on undergraduate and graduate students,less attention is paid to private higher vocational students,and the choice of major is based on linguistics,ideological and political education,and medical and nursing professional research.In this study,three private colleges and universities with considerable scale are selected to study the students of tourism management.this paper investigates the status quo of professional identity of tourism management students in private vocational colleges from three dimensions of professional behavior,professional cognition and professional emotion,and analyzes its influencing factors.Finally,it tries to put forward Suggestions to improve its professional identity.The research shows that students majoring in tourism management in private vocational colleges are in the middle level in the three indicators of overall identity and survey.There are significant differences in students' professional identity score and each dimension in gender,grade and academic performance.Male students majoring in tourism management in private colleges have higher level of professional identity scores and three dimensions than female students,showing significant differences.Students of different grades have significant differences in the dimension of professional emotion,especially those in the second grade,who have the lowest scores in the total score of professional identity,professional emotion and professional behavior,which is different from other increasing trends of undergraduate and graduate students in the grade.At the same time,better academic performanceaccompanied by a higher sense of identity.The survey also found that the professional identity of private higher vocational tourism management students is mainly influenced by professional awareness,professional teaching and professional prospect,among which professional awareness is the main influencing factor.On this basis,this paper puts forward Suggestions for the identity of tourism management major in private vocational colleges,that is,to strengthen professional awareness,improve student initiative,cultivate professional perspective,improve professional practicality and increase social support.
