With the rapid development of China's economy,the continuous improvement of domestic tourism infrastructure and the increasing demand for tourism,China's tourism industry has entered into a vigorous period.In order to meet national tourists' needs,achieve civilized tourism,and improve the quality of tourism services,the construction of high-quality tourism service team has become an urgent task.As the reserve force of tourism service,the students majoring in Tourism Management in higher vocational colleges not only have certain theoretical knowledge and cultural accomplishment,but also have excellent skills in tourism service.They should act as a stabilizing force in high-quality tourism service.Their professional identity on tourism management and willingness to engage in tourism industry will have a profound impact on the construction of a qualified team.However,the phenomena of low entry threshold,high turnover rate and the high rate of the brain-drain in tourism service industry have seriously hindered the improvement of tourism service.We conduct research on the current situation of professional identity and its influence factors,so as to explore the feasible measures to enhance the professional identity of students majoring in Tourism Management in higher vocational colleges.This research will contribute to the training of professional talents,the planning of self-development of students,and the construction of high-quality service in tourism industry.This thesis chooses Nanjing Vocational College of Tourism to be the study object.According to the massive literature research and Questionnaires on Professional identity of students majoring in Tourism Management in higher Vocational Colleges,250 students majoring in tourism management from three grades were selected to participate in the survey.The self-designed scale measures the current situation of professional identity by the following three dimensions:cognition,emotion and behavior;The influence factors of choosing this major includes the following four aspects:specialty characteristics,teaching staff,others' influence and individual preferences.The scale has excellent reliability and validity,which can satisfy the research needs.Through the analysis of the data,we can draw the following main results:The professional identity degree of tourism management students in higher vocational colleges is at a higher level in general,but there are certain differences between different student groups:(1)From the perspective of grades,the third grade students have a clearer understanding of the major.Compared with the first and second grade students,they significantly have a higher professional identity level.(2)From the perspective of student source,the students who graduated from vocational school have much deeper emotions than those who graduated from ordinary high school.Nevertheless,there is no significant difference in professional identity between these two source of students.(3)From the perspective of household registration,students from cities have deeper emotions,more positive behaviors and higher professional identity than students from countryside.Specialty characteristics,teaching staff,others5 influence and individual preferences,these four factors have positive effects on the identification level of the students who major in tourism management in Higher Vocational colleges.Results are as follows:(1)The degree of influence on professional identity is specialty characteristics,teaching staff,others9 influence,and individual preferences.(2)From the three dimensions of professional identity,we can see that the specialty characteristics,teaching staff and others5 influence have a positive impact on cognition;the specialty characteristics,individual preferences and teaching staff have a positive impact on emotion;and the specialty characteristics,teaching staff and others,influence have a positive impact on behavior.(3)From the influence mechanism of influencing factors on professional identity,the two factors of" specialty characteristics " and "teaching staff" affect the overall level of students' professional identity by the following three dimensions:cognition,emotion and behavior;"others' influence" affects students' professional identity by the following two dimensions:cognition and behavior."individual preferences " factor affects the professional identity level of students by " Emotion".Aims at improving professional identity of students who major in tourism management in Higher Vocational colleges,the following suggestions are put forward:(1)optimize curriculum,increase the promotion of the profession,and create the attraction of tourism management;(2)lower the average age of teachers,increase the flexibility of teaching methods,and enhance the teachers' charm;(3)families,schools and society work together to create a positive learning atmosphere(4)take students as the oriented,cultivate their interest in learning and set up learning goals.In addition,classification guidances are provided on the basis of differences among the student groups:(1)broaden the opportunities for the first and second grade students to engage in tourism profession and increase the opportunities for professional practice(2)help the students who graduated from ordinary high school understand their major as soon as possible,cultivate their interests and set up their goals(3)increase the teaching assistance to students who come from countryside,and attach importance to the promotion and publicity of this major among their parents.
