In recent years,the teaching way about using mathematics picture books in class has attracted the attention of domestic scholars,foreign scholars and front-line teachers gradually.Mathematics picture books have gradually entered the lives of lower grade students and have become materials for math learning in school and at home.Using mathematics picture books to teach can make students relax and think spontaneously in interesting situations.It can make them be interested in mathematics unconsciously and establish good thinking methods and habits.In order to verify whether it's effective or not to use mathematics picture books for teaching in the lower grades of elementary school,this article mainly uses teaching experiment method,interview method,literature research method and text analysis method for research.Through interviews with five mathematics teachers in the lower grades of S Elementary School in Changde,the understanding level of the mathematics teachers about the teaching of mathematics picture books and their use of mathematics picture books in teaching can be shown.Then analyze their existing problems and what the causes are.Students from two classes in the second grade of this school were taken as the objects of the study.The quasi-experimental design mode was adopted to divide the students into unequal groups to carry out an experiment.The students were randomly divided into the experimental class and the control class.To verify the hypothesis proposed in this article,there are pre-experiment,reflection and data processing about the pre-experiment,experimental adjustment,formal experiment,data analysis and processing etc.were included during the experiment.The hypothesis are as followings: if mathematics picture books are used to teach in the lower grades of elementary school,it can not only raise students' learning interest,but also improve students' overall mathematics performance.So there will be obvious influence on students' abstract knowledge learning,such as the learning of mathematical concepts.Through the research,it's found that although the conclusion which is “In lower grades of elementary school,applying mathematics picture books to mathematics teaching can overall improve students' mathematics performance” needs to be further demonstrated,the teaching effect of the experimental class is better than that of the control class after the experiment.After the verification,the author combined with the relevant suggestions which were offered by the class-viewing teachers to reflect on and summarized her own experience and problems in the research process.As for using mathematics picture books in teaching,some specific suggestions were offered like strategies about selecting mathematics picture books,taking a class as a unit to establish corners which are about mathematics picture books,improving the mathematics teachers' teaching literacy of picture books and developing conceptual picture book courses in mathematics.It's expected that this research can arouse the attention of front-line teachers about using mathematics picture books in teaching,stimulate teachers to try mathematics picture books and practice in class.Some references and suggestions in the teaching of mathematics picture books are provided.Then the teaching of mathematics picture books can be developed better.
