The common saying by most students in our daily teaching routines is asfollows: I am aware that it is important to preview well and want to get it welldone,but i don't know how to preview efficiently.However,the increasinglygrowing cognitive attitude among students doesn't go with the lack of thepreviewing methods at all.So how to enable the students to have a selfpreviewing before class and how to design pre-class activities full of wisdom area plate which needs to be solved desperately.In terms of the students' previewing cognition,previewing conditions andpreviewing methods,the survey was conducted among the students in Grade Oneand Grade Two from Yanhua High School,Yuncheng,Shanxi,which is based onthe current previewing conditions through ask-and-answer inquiry.The teachersgot the real information during the students' previewing from four aspects ofguidance and assessment under the teachers,starting with the analysis of thedata obtained from the experiment.Next,the author has got to know about thecurrent research conditions and thrown light on some related concepts bysearching for materials.Then the author clear the direction of the research andexplain the purpose and significance of the study.The second part is about thetheory learning which supports the research in theory.Based on the characteristics of the curriculum of maths in high school andthe thought and conclusion by the author in the long term teaching experience,the author has designed four kinds of pre-class guided activities: high efficient reading teaching materials,hands-on experimental operation,overall collectionmaterials and the construction pattern of group work and has given a briefintroduction of the four activity forms.This part focuses on the designingprocedure of the teaching case in which the oval teaching is carried on with thehands-on methods,and gives the teaching designing case about “Estimate thedigital characteristics of the population with the digital characteristics ofsamples” using the collected materials.Also,the author has given the designingcase of the chapter “Structural characteristics of spatial geometry” with theconstruction pattern of the group work.Besides,the author has talked aboutsome brief instructions of the items which needs paying attention to.Finally,the designed pre-class guided learning activities have been applied tothe daily teaching in Yanhua High School and the teaching experiment has beencarried on for a whole term.Meanwhile,under the condition that the experimentis carried out scientifically,the teachers have observed the students' academicperformance and made some detailed changes to the problems arising in thedesigning process.After the experiment,using many forms of assessing methods,the effect of the experiment was valued,the designing procedures were reflectedon,the problems appearing during the experiment were taken seriously and thepossible solutions were carefully thought over.The great change of the academicperformance before and after the experiment as well as the outcome of theinterview conducted among some students from the experimental class indicatesthat the guided learning activities before class can efficiently improve students' academic performance in maths and make previewing better.
