Reading teaching is the main content of Chinese teaching.Students’ understanding ability,language ability and thinking level can be improved through reading teaching.In recent years,multi-text reading teaching has become a hot spot in Chinese reading teaching and researching,which is not only the adaptation of Chinese teaching to the requirements of improving students’ comprehensive quality,but also an opportunity for the transformation of the existing Chinese reading teaching.After the early practice and discussion,multi-text reading teaching has formed a theoretical system and has been applied in front-line teaching.multi-text reading teaching plays an active part in cultivating students’ reading interest,expanding students’ reading scale and improving reading ability.Travel note is a style for people to show their knowledge and express their feelings about the places they have visited.It is also an important part of the prose chapters in the "Ministry Edition" textbook.There are many travel notes in classical Chinese in the textbook.What’s more,Unit 5 in Volume II of Grade 8 is wholly composed by modern travel notes.At present,the discussion on travel notes teaching mostly focuses on classical Chinese travel notes and pays less attention to the part of modern travel notes,which resulting in the lack of teaching and research on modern travel notes.In view of the specific background of the above,the author closely combines the multi-text reading teaching with the teaching of modern Chinese travel notes in the "Ministry Edition" textbook.Taking unit 5 of volume II of Grade 8 of the textbook as an example,the author tries to explore the guiding value and application strategy of the multi-text reading teaching method for Chinese travel notes teaching in junior middle school,and carry out a series of teaching discussion and practical research activities at the same time.The thinking and discussion process would be arranged and recorded in detail as well.The author is hoping to give teachers some enlightenment on the teaching of multi-text travel prose reading teaching.In the first part of this paper,it arranges and analyzes the general situation of travel prose teaching from the aspects of teaching objectives,learning situation,teaching situation and textbook resources,which lays a foundation for this research.By designing questionnaires and conducting interviews,the author investigates the current teaching situation of travel prose in junior middle school.After collecting the data,the problems existing in teaching,teachers’ attitudes and views on teaching discussion activities are listed and analyzed.Then,taking unit 5 of volume II of Grade 8 as an example,the author tries to clarify several course types of multi-text travel notes reading teaching for front-line teachers through a series of teaching and discussion activities.These types include preview class,teaching and reading guidance class,group text reading class and theme writing class.At the same time,a series of specific operation strategies in teaching are obtained.It is helpful for teachers to carry out detailed theoretical and practical research on multi-text reading teaching of travel notes prose in junior middle school.Finally,it shows a teaching cases of the whole unit 5 of Volume II of Grade 8,hoping to inspire the reading teaching of multi-text reading teaching in travel notes prose.
