Communist party of China(CPC)in 2017,general secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that people should be cultivated to assume the responsibility of national rejuvenation.At the national education conference in 2018,it was emphasized that we should adhere to the path of developing socialist education with Chinese characteristics and cultivate builders and successors of socialism with all-rounded development in ethics,intellect,physique,social skills and aesthetics.In response to the development of China's economy,science and technology,the transformation of the major social contradictions and the requirements of better education in the new era,the ministry of education issued a new version of the ideological and political curriculum standards for ordinary high schools in 2017.The new curriculum standard integrates the previous three-dimensional teaching objectives and forms the concept of the core accomplishment of the discipline.In order to achieve the implementation of core literacy,it is necessary to use appropriate teaching methods as assistance.As an effective and vivid teaching method,situational teaching method is widely used by many teachers.At the same time,as the content of high school ideological and political course is relatively abstract,the application of situational teaching method has become very important in teaching process.Situational teaching corresponds to the concept of constructing and cultivating the activity-oriented curriculum dominated by the core quality of the subject according to the new curriculum standard.It starts from the actual life of students and combines theory with practice on the basis of their existing cognitive ability.It satisfies the requirements of the new curriculum standard to conform to the law of student development and the idea of innovative teaching model.In the teaching process,it attempts to fulfill purpose of transforming the way of learning and promoting the all-round development of students by creating various situations and motivating them to participate actively.Moreover,the situational teaching method also forces the improvement of the evaluation mechanism of ideological and political course,which is of great significance to the teaching of ideological and political course and all the other courses.However,it is undeniable that there are still many problems in the application of situational teaching method in high school ideological and political classroom.First,the application of situational teaching method is not thorough enough.Teachers still mainly adopt the traditional teaching method where teachers' speaking dominates the whole class.The application of situational teaching method is formalistic and the teaching lacks well-designed situations.Second,the application of situational teaching method is not proper and effective enough,causing problems like teaching fragmentation,lack of coherence,lack of experience and artistry in setting questions.Situational teaching method does not conform to the actual teaching,deviates from the actual life,deviates from the teaching goal,pays too much attention to the form and ignores the improvement of students' actual ability.The causes of the above problems are both subjective and objective.Subjectively,some teachers' concepts are not updated timely.Their awareness is not strong,and they haven't pay much attention.The teaching ability of teachers needs to be improved.Some teachers' professional quality and personal quality need to be improved.Meanwhile,they have not established a harmonious relationship with students,nor have they updated the educational concept,and set up the goal of lifelong learning.Objectively,it shows that the society lacks support for ideological and political education,and it can even be considered that the whole society is utilitarian for education.Secondly,it is the factor of school.Exam-oriented education constrains the enthusiasm of schools to promote teaching reform,thus making the evaluation mechanism of schools less scientific.Finally,it is the family factor.Families lack the "democratic spirit" for students' learning freedom,and parents pay too much attention to grades,only focusing on students' grades and neglecting students' learning process.Some parents even lack care for their children and neglect education.Then how to optimize the application of situational teaching method in senior hig h school ideological and political class? In this paper,the author puts forward suggest ions in five aspects.First,improve the awareness of adopting situational teaching met hod.Second,improve the ability to create proper learning situations.Third,strengthen the ability to use situational teaching method.Fourth,improve the evaluation mechan ism for teachers.Fifth,create a good external environment.The application of situatio nal teaching method should be improved from the teacher level to the school level and then to the social level so as to better fit with the teaching of ideological and political course in senior high school.
