The success of teaching has a direct impact on students' identification with mainstream ideology and the correct formation of the three views. How to consolidate the achievement of the subject's core literacy goals and explore more effective teaching methods is the eternal subject of high school political science classes. However,in the spirit of materialization of modernity, the phenomenon of hollowing out of education is obvious, and the current situation of teaching Civics is a cold picture of de-instrumentalization and rationalization from the inside out.The phenomenon of indifference in Civics is an inescapable fact of existence, which not only affects the ideological security of our country and obscures the proper function and value of Civics, but also seriously affects the overall development of students. Therefore,it is especially urgent to systematically explore the current situation and causes of the apathy phenomenon in high school political science classes, explore effective strategies to effectively address the apathy phenomenon, and effectively improve students' physical and mental engagement.Based on the current phenomenon of apathy in high school political science classes, this paper analyzes and discusses it from five aspects. The introductory part of the book focuses on the background and significance of this study, the existing research results, the research methods and ideas, and the shortcomings and innovations of this study. The main part consists of four chapters: Chapter 1,a theoretical analysis of the "indifference phenomenon" in high school political science classes. In this chapter,a theoretical analysis is conducted to define the concept of "indifference" and to analyse the types and levels of "indifference" in high school politics classes,as well as its negative effects. In the second chapter, the current situation of the phenomenon of indifference in senior secondary politics classes is examined.Questionnaires, interviews and classroom observations are used to investigate the current situation of the 'indifference phenomenon' in senior secondary politics classes. The survey found that the "indifference phenomenon" in senior secondary politics classes is mainly manifested in the exclusion of the teaching content of politics classes, the disregard of classroom participation, the disregard of the status of the subject and the indifference in the optional examination mode, characterised by ambiguity in cognition, numbness in emotion, weakness in will. The third chapter analyses the causes of the 'indifference phenomenon' in high school politics classes.Specifically, the causes of the 'indifference phenomenon' in politics classes are as follows: Firstly,it is caused by the inappropriate teaching style of teachers. This includes the teacher's neglect of student subjectivity, the concealment of theoretical realities, and the obscuring of curriculum values, leading to students' perceptions of politics as uninteresting, useless, and indifferent to the curriculum;secondly,it is due to students' learning psychology. The imbalance in students' motivation, the lack of emotion in the course and the cognitive bias of the course have led to a low level of psychological involvement, emotional engagement and identification with the course;thirdly,it is due to the disturbing factors in the social environment. The utilitarian educational environment has cooled the human temperature of politics lessons, the entertaining online environment has teased the depth of values of politics lessons, and the complex reality environment has made it more difficult to reason in politics lessons.Chapter 4explores strategies to address the "indifference phenomenon" in high school politics classes.Based on the analysis of the above reasons,in order to resolve the "indifference phenomenon" in high school politics classes: firstly, one is to bring into play the power of the teacher as the main subject,in teaching to govern sensually thus making politics lessons interesting,to lead rationally thus highlighting the reasoning of politics lessons,to generate morally thus highlighting the meaning of politics lessons;secondly, they should adapt to students' learning Psychology.Teachers should work on both sensory pleasure and spiritual satisfaction to promote the internalisation of students' motivation, combine macro theory with micro reality to reverse students' cognitive misconceptions, and combine contextualisation with activity experience to achieve the purpose of stimulating students' emotions.Thirdly,a good environment should be created.Curriculum reform should be deepened to reduce students' burden and warm up their minds. While the online environment should be cleaned up to build a line of defence for students' thoughts, and the social environment should be optimised to provide realistic support for political science classes.
