We should improve the Chinese classroom teaching methods in the real language situation to promote students’ independent,cooperative and inquiry learning,improve their practical ability,cultivate their innovative spirit,and integrate teaching,learning and evaluation so as to comprehensively improve students’ subject core literacy.However,in the current classroom of novel reading teaching in junior middle schools,the traditional teaching method leads students to be not interested in the model reading of novels and their understanding is superficial.Teachers lack in-depth guidance to students.In view of these problems,the author explores the methods using the theme inquiry to make the novel reading teaching more efficient through in-depth research and active practice.In addition to the Introduction,the article consists of four chapters.In Chapter I,the concepts of Chinese theme inquiry teaching are expounded.The center of Chinese theme inquiry teaching is students and the theme is generated through the integration of teaching resources and in-depth exploration of texts.Students are encouraged to carry out in-depth learning in the process of independent,cooperative and inquiry learning in classroom so as to promote their thinking ability.Based on the theories of Constructivism,In-depth Learning and Chinese Curriculum Standards,Chinese theme inquiry teaching has the characteristics of subjectivity,inquiry,openness and development.In Chapter II,the investigation of Chinese theme inquiry teaching in junior middle school is introduced.First,we count and sort out the selection and compilation of novels in Chinese in junior middle school and mainly analyze the arrangement,content and compilation characteristics of novels in the state-compiled textbook.Second,we do surveys in the municipal high-quality junior middle schools.According to the survey data,we analyze the current situation of novel reading teaching and find that there are some problems in junior middle school novel reading teaching,such as solidification of model,lack of inquiry consciousness and practice.In Chapter III,the strategies of the application of Chinese theme inquiry teaching in junior middle school are introduced.Based on the novels in the Chinese textbooks in junior middle school,the strategies of the application of Chinese theme inquiry teaching are presented,including the generation strategies of teaching themes before class,the organization strategies of inquiry activities during class and the linkage strategies of extended reading after class.The theme inquiry teaching is designed to continuously guide students to read novels in detail,improve students’ thinking ability and help students feel the real literary charm in the process of reading novels.In Chapter IV,case design and after-teaching reflection of Chinese theme inquiry teaching in junior middle school are introduced.According to the strategies of the application of Chinese theme inquiry teaching in junior middle school and taking Rulin Waishi(The Scholars)as an example,we study and design three types of novel reading courses with theme inquiry,which are guidance before class,promotion during class and communication after class.In practice,we find that the theme inquiry teaching is beneficial to improve students’ comprehensive Chinese ability and their core literacy.
