Discontinuous text reading is a new type of reading style.The new curriculum standard puts forward the concept of "discontinuous text" for the first time.Although it is not specifically explained,discontinuous text has entered the junior middle school Chinese reading class.Therefore,many experts and scholars,especially front-line teachers,began to study discontinuous texts,gradually improved the knowledge system of discontinuous texts,and their cognition became clearer and clearer.Discontinuous text refers to a variety of independent materials that represent things or themes from different angles,such as text,icons,cartoons,etc.,around a specific thing or theme.According to its meaning,the extensiveness and intuitiveness of discontinuous text can be defined.In today’s information society,discontinuous text has very important reading and teaching value.It can adapt to social development,make up for knowledge loopholes,and help cultivate students’ ability to extract information,integrate information and pay attention to information in real life.However,in the teaching practice and investigation,it is found that there are still many problems in the teaching of discontinuous text reading.For example,teachers have single teaching methods,imperfect knowledge system,and have not actively developed teaching resources.Students have some problems,such as low interest in learning,weak awareness of learning,rigid learning methods and so on.Then,in Chinese reading teaching,how can rural junior middle schools effectively implement discontinuous text teaching? This paper discusses these problems.The main content of the article consists of three parts: introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction focuses on the analysis and elaboration of the research reasons,domestic research status,research objects and methods.The main content is divided into four parts.The first part discusses the meaning,characteristics,classification and combination principle of discontinuous text,and defines its five types and three combination principles.The second part analyzes the significance of discontinuous text reading teaching from the two perspectives of reading value and teaching value of discontinuous text.The third part mainly investigates the current situation of discontinuous text reading teaching in the first junior middle school in Xiagui Town,Linwei District,Weinan City,and analyzes the problems and reasons.The fourth part puts forward specific teaching strategies according to the problems existing in discontinuous text reading teaching combined with literature and teaching practice.Finally,in the conclusion part,it reflects and summarizes the main achievements and shortcomings of the research.
