Primary school science laboratory is a standard and safe place where all schools are equipped with experimental equipment in accordance with the unified standards of national education authorities.Primary schoolscience laboratory is an important place to carry out scientific experiment teaching.Standardized scientific laboratory setting and rational use are of great significance to the implementation of primary school science curriculum.This paper uses literature method,investigation method(questionnaire method,interview method and field investigation method),classroom observation method and other research methods to investigate13 primary school science laboratories in Xilinhot,Inner Mongolia.We find that there are 8 primary schools in the region whose laboratory setting limited project completion rate is more than 80%.The completion rate of laboratory use projects was better in 13 primary schools,with only two schools having a completion rate of about 60% and 10 schools having a completion rate of more than 80%.We found that the current primary school science laboratory setting problems mainly include: 1.There are differences in laboratory environment among schools;2.Primary school science laboratory instruments and equipment are not fully equipped as required.Combined with the investigation results,the reasons for the above problems are as follows: 1.The superior supervision department is not strict in the supervision of the laboratory setting.2.Different school leaders attach different importance to it.The main problems in the use of laboratories are as follows: 1.The frequency of use of science laboratories in primary schools is low,and there are no complete experimental courses as required.2.The implementation effect of science laboratory management system in primary schools is poor,and no management system with distinct responsibilities has been formed.The main reasons for the problems are as follows: 1.The supervision of superior management department is not strict,and the school does not set up management personnel organization.2.The number of science teachers is small,the class capacity is large,and the teaching task of teachers is too much.In view of the laboratory setting,the optimization strategies are proposed as follows: we should change our ideas,strengthen supervision and improve the importance of scientific laboratory setting;The equipment in the instrument room should be arranged reasonably and stored according to the actual needs of experimental teaching.For the use of laboratory,the following optimization strategies are proposed: first,teachers should allocate teaching time reasonably and flexibly carry out experimental teaching;We should make scientific and thorough experimental teaching plan to ensure the progress of experimental teaching.We should also expand teaching content and enrich teaching activities.
