The "Basic Education Curriculum Reform Plan Just Outline" promulgated in 2001 comprehensively advocates the concept of "people-oriented" education,and the way teachers teach and the way students learn under the new curriculum reform have undergone great changes.The "Full-time Compulsory Education Mathematics Curriculum Standards" also emphasizes the importance and development of students' problem-solving skills.The PBL teaching method takes solving "problems" as the core,with independent learning and group cooperation as the main learning methods,which is in line with the concept and direction of China's current education reform.So how is the PBL pedagogy applied in primary school mathematics teaching? How to improve the application efficiency and effectiveness of PBL ? By combing through the literature related to PBL teaching methods at home and abroad,the concepts of problems and PBL teaching methods are defined.With reference to the research of relevant scholars,the "Questionnaire on the Application Status of PBL Teaching Method in Primary School Mathematics Classrooms" and the outline of teacher interviews were compiled,and 128 primary school mathematics teachers in Tianjin were surveyed using questionnaire surveys and interview methods.It was found that most teachers still have many problems in problem design,self-learning awareness,self-directed learning instruction,group cooperation efficiency,and evaluation.Based on the interview results,the reasons for these problems are analyzed: teachers lack the ability to design effective questions,teachers neglect to cultivate students' mathematical thinking ability,traditional teaching concepts affect the choice of teachers' teaching methods,teachers lack the ability to effectively guide students,teachers lack organizational skills and abilities in group cooperation,and teachers lack the ability to evaluate comprehensively.In view of the problems and reasons for the application of PBL teaching method by primary school mathematics teachers,the following suggestions are put forward for improving the application effect of PBL teaching method: enhance teachers' ability to design good problem situations;pay attention to the cultivation of students' mathematical thinking ability and enhance students' problem-solving ability;transform teachers' traditional teaching concepts by establishing new teacher roles and forming PBL teacher teams to provide students with an independent learning environment;strengthen effective guidance to students through the "four adaptation principles" and regulate students' learning process;improve the order and efficiency of group cooperation by scientifically dividing groups and clarifying the role allocation of group members;pay attention to process evaluation.Emphasize the diversification of evaluation subjects to optimize and improve the quality and level of teacher feedback.
