The 2017 version of the general high school mathematics curriculum standard includes mathematical modelling as the core literacy..As an important way to cultivate students' ability and awareness of using mathematics,mathematical modelling is a hot spot and trend of mathematics education.However,the teaching of mathematical modelling has not been widely carried out.Inquiry teaching can provide a new way to cultivate mathematical modelling literacy.At present,there is little research on the influence of inquiry teaching on core literacies,especially mathematical modelling.Therefore,this research will explore the influence of inquiry teaching on senior high school students' mathematical modelling literacy.This research will summarize the strategies of inquiry mathematical modelling teaching.This research contains two questions:(1)can inquiry mathematical modelling teaching improve students' mathematical modelling competency?(2)Can inquiry mathematical modeling teaching improve students' interest in mathematical modelling?Based on relevant researches,this research designed and implemented two rounds of mathematical modelling teaching,and compiled mathematical modelling competency test questions and modelling interest scale.The research methods include case study,questionnaire and interview.Through the questionnaire analysis before and after inquiry mathematical modelling teaching.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)the mathematical modeling competency of senior students is weak,and there is no gender difference in mathematical modelling competency.Inquiry teaching can improve students' mathematical modeling competency;(2)Students are not interested in mathematical modelling,but inquiry teaching can effectively improve students' interest in mathematical modelling;(3)Inquiry teaching aimed at cultivating senior high school students' mathematical modelling literacy should have the following characteristics: life-oriented and interesting modeling background,low difficulty modelling problems,problem orientation and group cooperation.Based on the research conclusions,three enlightenments on cultivating mathematical modelling literacy are obtained:(1)teachers should actively carry out mathematical modeling activities regardless of the difficulty of modelling problems;(2)Mathematical modelling is an effective way to improve students' comprehensive literacies;(3)The interest of mathematical modelling comes from practice.
