Language reading at the elementary school level is of positive significance for developing students' horizons,receiving excellent culture,achieving literacy,reading recognition,reading,expression and writing.And effective reading can cultivate students' interest and habit of reading,improve reading taste,which is important to perfect students' personality and improve their language literacy.The main content of this paper is as follows: Chapter 1 takes students in four elementary school in Shawen Town,Baiyun District,Guiyang City as a case study to carry out a research on the current situation of students' reading ability.The study finds that students in four elementary school in Shawen Town,Baiyun District,Guiyang City have the relatively weakest reading skills,which is the lowest of students' reading ability,followed by reading cognition and finally reading self-awareness.This indicates that students' reading ability as a whole still needs to be improved.Combined with students' reading habits,some of these problems are revealed: inadequate pre-reading and lack of teacher guidance;narrow reading content for elementary students and lack of teacher extension of the content;lack of interest in learning for elementary students and lack of stimulating teaching methods for teachers;low classroom participation for elementary students and lack of teacher attention.Chapter 2 analyzes the main factors affecting the development of students' reading ability,mainly: the influence of mass media and traditional educational concepts at the social level;organizational management and curriculum at the school level;teachers' educational concepts,teachers' teaching ability and teachers' survival at the teacher level;family environment and resource support at the family level;and students' reading habits and reading attitudes at the student level.Chapter3 proposes specific measures for the development of elementary school students' reading ability based on the previous section,which requires the social level to strengthen the guidance of social opinion atmosphere and return to the original intention of language reading teaching.The school level needs to shape a good reading learning atmosphere and increase the investment in reading resources on campus.Teachers need to cultivate students' reading habits and prepare for reading;pay attention to the development of reading resources and broaden students' text reading content;understand students' reading psychological process and encourage students to ask questions;strengthen students' orientation and improve their own reading teaching quality.At the family level,we need to change the concept of family education and increase the supply of reading resources.At the student level,students need to correct their reading attitudes and maintain their reading interests.
